I have been a customer with ABN Amro/RBS for 8years as a Savings bank customer.
Recently I got a call from a person called vishwesh sharma. He claimed he is calling from RBS customer service. He addressed me by my first name and asked if it was me. I said yes.
Then he said I have a credit card and owe around 60, 000. I said I never had a credit card. He asked if I worked in SGS corp. I said I never worked there. He accused that I was lying and started shouting and abusing me unwilling to listen to what I was saying and demanding I pay up.
When I disconnected, he kept calling me repeatedly when I was in a meeting. As it was my business phone, I could not turn it off and finally when I picked up he started further abusing me for not picking up the phone.
He finally stopped calling when I demanded I be connected to his manager. He said he would call me back in few mins.
I immediately called the RBS nodal officer and complained. They said they would investigate and get back. They called after couple of hours and apologized for the wrong call and when demanded they agreed to send me a written apology. Till date they have not send any apology letter.
