Plz stay away from banks like Stan Chart and ABN Amro coz their mission is to harass and hassle their customers anytime and everytime!
I had a Freedom Credit Card issued by the ABN Amro bank in lieu of my car loan in 2003. I was promised that it was a free-for-life credit card since I already had association with the bank in form of car loan. However, to my utter surprise they charged me for the membership fee when they reissued the card last year. They also added some Credit Shield policy and added amount for that also. I refused to accept the new terms and promptly called customer serivce to cancel my card. I also wrote a mail to Head Card Services and got reply that things would be taken care of in the next statement. But that was not to be.so I wrote them again but this time nobody replied.
However, as their "customer harassing" track record is, they kept sending me bills for new membership charges+ credit shield charges+ interest on those two! And I also started recieveing calls from their collection agents asking me to pay up!
I am determined never to pay up those concoted charges come what may. Does anyone know how to get redressal of such issues so that bank is held accountable for their harassment?
