First thing I would like to mention is that I do not know how long it will take for me to submit this article to mouthshut’s review database as my ISP is THE ABC Broadband.

So guys, I landed in Pune around a month back and committed the biggest crime of the millennium by subscribing to ABC Broadband. The change from Airtel to ABC Broadband was no doubt going to be hard but “beggars are not choosers”; and hence considering the fact that it was going to take a longer time for Airtel to provide service in my area, I opted for ABC Broadband as it seemed to be quicker and not to mention a lot more cheaper than the prior service I was hooked to while I was in Karnataka.

Anyways, ABC Broadband did show me its true colors beforehand. I had to call million of times and wait for innumerable days (considering how badly I needed the connectivity, I have raised the waiting values exponentially) for the first sales executive to reach at my doorsteps.

I was of the view that ABC Broadband is a wireless service provider and when I enquired this with the people who came to collect my information and the installation ‘check’, they reassured me that all the wires and networking stuff placed in my flat was for my convenience and ABC Broadband’s service could be accessed from anypart of Maharashtra. As a fool I am, I did agree, later to realize that as I left my home and unplugged the LAN wire, I lost the service completely. The Wi-Fi was able to detect their network but never able to register it. So that was my first loss but I settled down after getting no response from their side even after a registration of 10 complains on the same day.

It was Wednesday, the 18th when I was given my proper username and password for my account which is in their unlimited 512 kbps plan. From the beginning till today, I have never got a speed even close to 512 kbps. The maximum that I get is 312 and right now, it is 108.

Do not laugh yet, things are still not over.

I started calling the customer care (that is really nice of them for giving us a toll free number otherwise I could have spent some 1000 bucks in the whole complain registering league I was in) twice and even thrice a day but no response. No engineer came to visit my place and all my service requests were closed within a day or two (got to know about these when I logged into their self care site).

I got furious and requested for a disconnection of the connection which was only 10 days old but, yes, this time too ABC Broadband played its part and no one has appeared to take away their rotten wires and modem from my home.

Anyways, this whole episode taught me one thing, never to run for something which is cheap and easy to avail. The service that they provide is cheaper and harder to sustain.

A small introduction of ABC Broadband; they charge only 500 INR as installation fees and that is non refundable. Their tariff rates are as low as 299 and range to 1499. I was in the 599, unlimited plan but the 599+500 made me suffer 1099^1099(1099 raise to 1099).

If you want to try then go ahead give it a shot but I feel it is better to save your blood pressure medication costs rather than saving on your ISP.

Never repeat the mistakes that I did.

Happiness is expensive and so is a proper internet service.

Ps: it took me 20 minutes to open mouthshut’s webpage and submit my review to it and the speed test suggests my speed to be 58 kbps! :D
