A Film To Remember.....Walk to remember. Review on A Walk to Remember Movie

It was another lonely weekday's late evening after my dinner, couldnt help but watch IPL going on Sony Max.Matchjust got so much predictable I just thought to flip channels and happened to beon WB(Warner Brothers a new channel) and the movie "WALK TO REMEMBER"was just about to start, God know what’s happening to me nowadays, I prefer towatch romantic movies. Before you jump to any conclusions, no I am happilysingle.hmmm. Am I, probably a lack of girlfriend in my life? Anyway Iwould figure that out later. So the movie began…

The movie starts with a scene where you see Landon(Shane West) and some of his friendsbeing rowdy and as a result boy gets hospitalized. You think to yourself: "Not anotherrough and rowdy picture about crazy teenagers. But I hung on to it thinking there has to be something more so icontinued watching. Once again, a moviethat teaches you, "You can't judge a book by it's cover." This movie conveys the ideology thatopposites do attract and if given a second chance many people can bereformed. Sometimes things happen whenyou least expect them and sometimes you see a couple together that you wouldn'timagine being together. Such is the casewith Jamie and Landon.

Teen pin-ups Mandy Moore and Shane West star as high school seniors Jamie and Landon. Landon, the glamorous bad boy in Beaufort, spends most of his time withfriends, partying and pumping up their own egos. After one of their pranksseriously injures a boy, Landon is given community service for being a partof the mishap and one of his servicesentails him participating in a school play with none other than the preacher'sdaughter, Jamie, played by Mandy Moore. These two young people have grown up together. They have been in classes with each other for years and one day on the school bus Landon proceeds to tell Jamie who he thinks she is and yet as Jamie points out to Landon: "You don't know me."

Jamie agrees to help Landon learn his lines. When he sees her for the first time onopening night, all dolled up to play a nightclub singer(apparently their playhad no dress rehearsals), it turns out that she is very pretty. He findshimself drawn to her, and, through her, drawn to a better notion of his own potential.Andthen the love beguns to grow.But the "catch" is Jamie begs Landon notto fall in love with her. Now at firstyou think that's a little rude-does

she really believe she is too good for him?but then as thefilm progresses you know why she told him so.Jamie has cancer.

Landon slowly starts to discover that there is something special about Jamie. There is more to her than the plain-Janelook, out-of-date clothes; especially the sweater and her peculiarities. Jamie starts to realize that there is a sortof tenderness and compassion under Landon's heart of stone. The soft and tender kiss is so beautiful andyou hope and pray that Landon doesn't take it too far and hurt Jamie. You want the message to be sent out that"true love

waits."

Jamie's father is the preacher played by Peter Coyote. He is the proverbial preacher and overbearing father. Whether it's because he has high expectationsfor his daughter or he is just over protective because she is sick.He has done amarvelous job too!

Jamie loveswatching stars and comets from her telescope but it is too small to see thecomet in it, thats night she tells landon that her only wish is "to see amiracle", landon starts building a big telelscope and when jamie is bedridden as she is in the last stage of cancer, he completes building it andshows a miracle to Jamie, a comet which she was not able to see with her telescope.

People do things out of the ordinary when they think it's the last time. This movie teaches how short life really is and to never underestimate the power of love.Movie soundtrack is wonderful, during the school play Jamie performs "Only Hope" what a performance and then "You're The One That I Want" at the school carnival. Even I loved song "CRY" what a song truly touching!

This movie is based on novel by Nicholas Sparks "Walk to remember", I have started admiring this guy, beautifull way of story telling and a specialist in love stories.Waiting to watch the movie "The Notebook" again based on novel writtenby him.

If you want to see what happens with Landon and Jamie then watch the movie. A movie to remember with cute Mandy Moore in the lead. A trustworthy, touching story that you won’t forget after you’ve seen it. Well written and absolutely worth being watched.
