"They didn't agree on much. In fact they rarely agreed on anything. They fought all the time and they challenged each other everyday. But in spite their differences, they had one important thing in common. They were crazy about each other"-The Notebook

The above lines were written by Nicholas Sparks in one of the best romantic novels of all time-The Notebook. True to his style this novel also takes you in fairy tale land where dreams come true and love is the ultimate thing.

I read the book after watching the Mandy Moore starer movie but even after knowing the story the book took me by surprise and left me teary eyed. There is a particular Nicholas Sparks charm added to the book which makes it special to read. True to his style, he makes you believe in love all over again.

The story is about two college students. Landon, a rich spoiled kid and Jamie, the simple and sincere daughter of a reverend. Fate makes them meet each other in a community program where they have to work with each other. Despite the 180 degree personality difference they fall in love with each other. And when things were finally working out, Jamie falls ill and dies leaving Landon alone and aching for her forever. The story is special because Landon knows about Jamie's condition and still marries her to make her happy and make her last few days special. The feelings depicted in the book are beyond description and can be felt when one reads the book.

You should read the book for its simplicity. The story is not extraordinary. There are only a few characters and mostly the story is focused on Jamie and Landon. The book gives you a different perspective of love. Regardless of you being ever in love or not, you can totally relate to the characters. The one guy/girl who swept you off your feet, whose presence was the only thing that you ever wanted and magically everything felt right. Even if things were not going right the presence of the person made you feel that everything will somehow fall into place. Love is a feeling which is different for everyone, for some it means sacrificing, for some it is a source of growth or for some its just being happy with each other.

True love is much more than the three words you mumble before going to the bed. It is the only driving force that will keep you going forever. So even if you had a heartbreak or never found true love, don't give up on love. Remember it for all the good things and be a believer.

For all the romantic novel fans, this is a treat. Don't miss it.

*Some of the quotes worth mentioning are:

“Love is like the wind, you can't see it but you can feel it.”-A Walk To Remember

"Love is patient and kind. It is never jealous, love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful & endures through every circumstance, love will last forever"-A Walk To Remember(The Movie)

Also, search for the Mandy Moore's song "Only Hope". It's an amazing one.

I read three of the Nicholas Sparks' books in continuation. One other book worth mentioning is "At first Sight". Since there is no category for this book as of now I will mention a review here itself.

The story is about a writer Jeremy who meets Lexie and falls in love with her.He decides to marry her. His friends and family members try and talk him out of it as they think Jeremy took a hasty decision. Jeremy could not make them understand the fact that there is a driving force in each of us which makes us do things which we never thought were possible. He left his fast lane New Yorker life and moved to her quiet remote town. The novel depicts all the feelings that you go through when you love someone more than life. When that person is the center of your world.  The love is so brittle that any small misunderstanding can break it anytime. All the times when you ask yourself is love at first sight really possible? Jeremy and Lexie had their rough patches where hiding some things led to lots of misunderstanding but their love for each other and their ability to listen to each other took them ahead. The book ends on a tragic note but still leaves you with a wonderful feeling.

Catch on this one too!

Happy Reading:-)
