Hear a heart speak...

Originality:

I have always loved them singing together. Their voices somehow matched to perfection - Jagjit Singh would sound good with anyone, but when Jagjit and Chitra were singing together, you could hear the difference.

It would give you the feeling that they were not really singing for a recording company or for money, but they were singing by experience, for themselves, singing all alone.

A sound affair is a 1985 based album with jagjit and chitra together. A mixture of sad ghazals, the first ghazal is Aye khuda.. raat ke sehra ko samandar karde''. He is trying to communicate with god.. one he has never seen, one who believes in.

Aaakh se aakh mila is a sung by Chitra alone. Times when there is a conflict between a couple, when you feel that you do not understand a certain part of a person. This ghazal comes from a frustrated woman, a tired woman who says - Aaakh se aakh mila, baat banata kyu hai? Tu agar mujh se kahafa hai, to chupata kyu hai...'' Then again, it talks more about what happens everyday. People change by time, the one who you loved once, a lot, seem to be just like any other person now, or sometimes may seem like a liability....no one knows why it happens, does love really die..? or if it was never love.. ''Waqt ke saath khayaalaat badal jaate hai - ye hakeekat hai lekin, mujh se batata kyu hai..'' A good queestion to ask huh?

Socha nahi, accha bura is one of the best ghazals by Jagjit and Chitra together, lyrics given by Bashir Badr. Ever loved a person with the ''nothing else matters'' attitude? This is the song that will tell u how it feels. It starts with soft guitar strings and violin, Socha nahi.. accha bura..dekha suna kuch bhi nahi....Maanga khuda se raat din..maanga khuda se raat din, tere siwa, kuch bhi nahi.. This ghazal can really say it in words when you love someone like crazy .. ''Dekha tujhe, socha tujhe, chaaha tujhe, pooja tujhe - mera khata, meri wafa, teri khata kuch bhi nahi :)'' Every word in this ghazal will get a tear in your eyes..if they havent already..

A ghazal in which he speaks a persons heart..For the person he writes the letters... The galzal Tere Khat is about a person thinking back in time, of the letters he his written, with descriptions of the person he wrote them for..

Jinko duniya ki nigahon se chupaye rakha, jinko ek umr kaleje se lagaye rakha.. deen jinko, jinhe iman banaye rakha.... what he did.. Kabhi din mein toh, kabhi raat ko uthkar likhe.... teri khushboo mein base khat mein jalata kaise... and ends it with note.. ''unhe mein, ganga mein baha kar aaya hoon..aag behte hue paani mein lagar aaya hoon..''. A ghazal rich in emotions..

Yeh to nahi ke ghum nahiis the next ghazal by Chitra. Coming from a person whose emotions lie deep within and cannot be seen on the face. You can interpret this song into innumerable situations. Ye to nahi ke ghum nahi, haan meri aakh num nahi.. Tum bhi to tum nahi ho aaj, hum bhi to aaj hum nahi..''

I hope the ghazals give u a feel of what you should expect from the album. Do get it - for once you will feel words in ghazals understand you more than a person can..
