Greetings, everyone!

My review is based on renowned Irish vocalist Enya’s year 2000 album, “A Day Without Rain”. A Day Without Rain follows 1995's Grammy winning The Memory Of Trees. I should not deny the fact that every new release of Enya.has washed over all who have ears to hear.

It includes 11 tracks of which 3 are instrumental. I would like to summarize the Editorial review(written by Terry Wood in bold) of this album in the following words in the paragraph- The disc's opening three tracks (including the spellbinding ''Only Time'') form a gorgeous trilogy that suggest Enya has deepened her focus on the nexus where sophisticated pop and regal mysticism, the twin rivers of her singular sound, form a seamless intersection.

In today music, where the focus is completely based on rhythm, Enya’s album shows both rhythm and melody.

Here are my views on the tracks -

“A day without rain”- An excellent opening track. The soft playing of the keyboard that certainly remains fresh in mind!

“Wild Child”- A song that sounds as if you are lost in the morning weather waiting for the day to unfold.

“Only Time”- A song on unrequited love (or parting) with a great rhyme scheme! Just like the video, every verse has a change like the way seasons do.

“Tempus Vernum”- A track so sensational that sounds like the clashing of the forces of nature.

“Deora ar mo chroi”- Its in Gaelic (or Irish?) with one touching tune.

“Flora’s Secret”:- A flawless blend of two rather closely related themes – love and nature with exceptional https://lyrics.

“Fallen Embers”- In this track, Enya stands alone and sings in an abyss of sadness.

“Silver Inches”- One of my favourite ones. Sounds like the arrival of winter!

“Pilgrim”- A slow moving track with lyrics influenced by Mahatma Gandhi.

“One by One”- I can’t describe this one, its sounds like parting (again!) with a great mix of music!

“Lazy Days” - The closing track feels like dancing in the rain and sleeping below the blue skies with flowers everywhere!”

Secondly, Enya has achieved all this without playing the celebrity game (Britney Spears and J.Lo foe eg.). No sex scandals, no hype - Enya's music breaks all the rules of pop stardom, yet her records sell in their millions. She has maintained a silence so dignified, I believe that no one will speak arrogantly against her.

You can play some of her tracks from the album on Enya.com (her official website) just to get its taste.

Enya has also sung and written the soundtrack of the 4 Oscar winning movie ‘The Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring’. Her song “May it be” was nominated for the 74th annual academy awards.

I will recommend this album to any music lover especially those interested in World Music.

Opinions on those who have heard it will be appreciated.
