When music is blended with humor it offers complete entertainment. And certainly a place to check this amalgamation is 9XM..

Why 9XM stands apart…

There are quite a few music channels on the block like MTV, Zoom, Channel V et al... along with music their focus is on other aspects of bollywood like gossip or at times they irk me with some reality show. Whenever I switch on the television at any odd hour I basically look for a good song to brighten my day. 9XM is the total package one can ask for.

The Musical Aspect…

We get to see and listen to some good Bollywood numbers, the popular songs as well as the new releases…

There is an alert at the top of the screen before the song ends which will update you on the song coming up.

After every song the channel offers a comical treat in the form of Bakwas Bandh Kar, Bheegi Billi, Betel Nut Or Baadsha bhai…

Lets have a look at the Comical Aspect

Bakwas Bandh Kar…

We get to see two animated characters Chote and Bade… Chote asks Bade a sensible question and when Badai fails to answer Chotai gives the most insensible answer which at times make sense to me blame it to my sense of humor LoL

Betel Nuts (Meaning Pan Supari)

They are a group of four friends who share a Shair (Poetry), a humorous one and each character tries to interpret it in English and that adds to the fun.

Let me quote one…

‘Naa janai woh hum se kya chupti thee (Hiding wht?)

Kuch toh tha uskai hothon pae na janai kyon sharmati thee (something on the lips and still feeling shy)

Muh khulwa k dekha toh pata chala ki woh ghutka chabati thee…’

Bheegi Billi

Is a misfortunate cat who tries doing something great but ends up as a laughing stock…. The Bili sings and narrates the whole tragic event that led him to become a Bheegi Billi...(a coward)

Baadsha bhai…

He is a chimp who sings the celebrated songs of the 90’s in the most pathetic voice… Every person who loves singing and is blessed with a terrible voice can sing along…!

Even during the song we are entertained by these characters who dance and move around. At time a snails moves with a witty wacky one liner.. For instance when a song features Saif and Kareena there goes a liner ’Karee-na galat baat’

Contests:

Quite a few movies have used this platform for promotion, the star cast asks questions. A chance for the viewers to win some goodies...

What I dislike about the channel :

Ads are something we all dislike and on this channel there is a break (3 - 5 minutes) after every three songs. I wish we get to see at least five songs at a stretch.
