RJ Simran. Review on 93.5 Red FM

Rahul is the de facto most popular male name in India thanks to Bollywood and its influence on the general mankind, why Rahul why not a female name, well could be a bias against the gender or could be, that the space to coin the most popular female name was reserved for, not movies but some other entertainment medium.

For ages we kept waiting forcing us to believe that gender bias is at its peak and hence there is no mass drive for a common female name all across the country.

But Red FM was to change that belief, they seem to have read history book, maybe thanks to Amin Sayani who has it all in his mind or maybe palm or maybe voice and they hit the opportunity.

Their morning slot was doing awfully bad with Safia and Vijay not able to do much to bring its class and listener ship up to a level of acceptance, Phase One saw Safia out to another show and then Phase 2 saw what we all wanted to see.

With a pun to Shoiab Illiyasi “together we can”, a pick up line for support and invitation to mass movement; they created a character Simran and started hunting for her.

From being called “Mame didi” who always harped about her Caa-naada wale Uncle or the one who would sing in her shower, from being the Head of the station to being a RJ of a different kind, the present day RJ Simran has come a long way. Born to a Air Force Personal, prefers to say Ware-Chuk or asking Isme Shareefs for she is a kashmiri and has studied in Lucknow and then subsequently in Jamia, she is known for her laughter and laughs she much on Air.

Delhi was hooked to her like she was hooked to radio, she was the voice of the city rulling the hearts of FM Listerners even to us kinds who would sometime tune her on some remote broadcast in cities like Bangalore or even Mumbai. She is known to be tyrant and drive rashly and yet advise Delhi on how to follow road rules and be patient and passionate.

The whole Delhi is wondering who is this RJ Simran or maybe not, for now they know that she is nothing but the Morning slot RJ on 93.5 Red FM, so is she a brand new RJ, if yes then how can she be so good at her first stint.

Well if you had been an old listener of Radio you would know who she is, from AIR FM to Mirchi FM and now Red FM, from being a girl who would fall in love one moment and fall out of it the other moment, to getting married and now being a mom of a kid,she has come a long way in the form of Simran.

Delhi would have done it without Shamshir and Delhi is doing without him, Delhi could have done it without Roshan but Delhi couldn’t do without 2 people one is Yuri and the other is ,well you guessed it RJ Simran. Simran went off air for now almost about a year, the last she was heard was as a Mame Didi on Mirchi on Sundays where she was the Station Head and broke off just before proceeding on Maternity Leave. And it was surprising as to how could she remain off air for this long, and there she comes as RJ Simran.

I know Red FM folks have been avoiding to reveal her true name and since I am friends to many out there I would rather not reveal her true identity until someone forces me to, so just rattle your mind and figure out for yourself who she is.
