Reading has always been an obsession with me but only light stuff. Never got to like those classics. Never was a person to read Shakespeare and stuff. But I always liked to read novels by popular writers. So this is going to be a list of my top 5 novels: -

1) The Godfather - Mario Puzo -Still shocking more than a quarter-century after it was first published, The Godfather is a modern classic. The Godfather is the epic story of organized crime in the 1940’s, but it is also the intimate story of the Corleone family, drawn together and ripped apart by its position at the core of the Mafia in America. The novel is full of exquisitely detailed characters who, despite leading unconventional lifestyles within a notorious crime family, experience the triumphs and failures of the human condition. The definitive gangster novel.

2) Doctors - Erich Sehgal - What do you do when your best friend is your dream lover? This is a book of human emotions and relationships and love. It mainly centers around the 2 characters of  Barney Livingston and Laura Castalleno who were friends and later turn out to be a life-partners. Its about Kenneth who rises above racial discrimination to excel in his field. Its about Seth who is a mad genius. All in all it is a book about doctors who lead such a glamarous yet difficult life. Its the ultimate story of human love and emotions. You will fall in love with the characters of Barney and Laura

.

3) The Firm - John Grisham - The Mafia wants you dead. What do you do?'The Firm'is about a young lawyer named Mitch McDeere. Mitch is graduation in the top five from Harvard's law school, and could have his pick of any number of large, prestigious law firms in which to set up his practice. Then along comes Bendini, Lambert, and Locke, a small firm located in Memphis, Tennessee. This firm is desperate for Mitch's services. They throw a huge salary, a new car, and so many other benefits in Mitch's face that he'd be foolish not to accept. So he does. Then FBI drop the bomb-Mitch'wants Mitch to help them from the inside to bust the firm and therefore the Mafia.I highly recommend it to anyone with even a remote interest in the law.

4) Hannibal - Thomas Harris - The return of the fear inspiring Hannibal Lecter. Thomas Harris has done the most wonderful character development on Hannibal. Though you must feel hatred for psychopathic  Hannibal Lecter, you don't, you are in awe of this demented genius. This book is definitely one of the best I have read . but I think the part of the Hannibal Palace could have been avoided. Its a bit too profound and boring.

5) Tell me your Dreams - Sidney Sheldon - I have never been a great Sidney Sheldon fan but this book came highly recommended by my friends and I began to read it. I was not disappointed. This book deals with MPD( Multiple Personality Disorder). There is this girl who has so many emotions inside her and there is this birth of alter egos to vent out those frustrations. Something like Me, Myself and Irene but more serious! A nice read.

So guys, come on get reading and give me your list!
