Reading is a passion for me. It started with the Enid Blyton's famous five and has carried on till today. It is the most difficult task to rate your five best books. There are different genre's , books are for different moods and for different generations.

When I read I am transported to another world. It gets me so absorbed with the characters and the novel setting that it feels like a terrible loss when a book finishes. My personal favourites have therefore been novel series. Harry Porter fans would know exactly what I mean :)

So here are the 5 best novel series I have read so far-

  1. The Wheel Of Time Series by Robert Jordan. Genre- Fantasy.

The Wheel of time series is a series of 12 books with 10 released and the 11th due to be released in Octobor. The Wheel of time is one of the most famous series and has its own cult, a fan following so huge its amazing.

''The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend.  Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.  In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose....  The wind was not the beginning.  There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of time.

But it was a beginning.'' This is the phrase which has brought innumerable leaders into the WOT cult. To get a peak at the world of Wheel of Time go to https://dragonmount.com/main.php or https://sevenspokes.com/

  1. Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell

Well this one does not really come under the category of series. Because it is one book and then second part came years later by a different author, but yes its huge enough to keep you involved for a long time.

Gone with the Wind is set during the American Civil War. Seen through the eyes of Scarlet O Hara who witnesses the downfall of a world of grace and beauty towards starvation and desperation. The beauty of the novel is in its miriad characters!!

  1. The Foundation Series by Isaac Asimov Genre- Science Fiction

It is about the fall of the Galactic Empire and the rise of the Foundation. The destiny of the universe has been predecided by one man - Hari Seldon a psycho historian. He has plotted the destiny of the Foundation from start to one thousand years later. The one thing that can be said about the book is the ability to keep up the climax. Its one book that has an amazing story and always lives up to its climax scenes. Its an intricate plot that evolves rather fast.

  1. Harry Porter by J K Rowling. Genre- Fantasy

Not much needs to be said about this series as it is already in the limelight. But I would not fail to mention it because its an amazing piece of work which has involved people from all ages and all backgrounds and broken thousands of records!!! Hats Off!!

5. Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkein Genre- Fantasy

This is a triology. The plot is based on the struggle for the Ring of Power, which was forged by Sauron, the Dark Lord, long long ago. This series is not just famous as a work of fiction but is also a treasure of English Literature of the XX century. Lord of the Rings is believed to be one of the first or probably the first book in the fantasy genre.

I hope the above reviews will be helpful to people interested in the fantasy genre. Other series worth mentioning are The Tamuli, Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy and The Dune series.

Enjoy reading!!
