Books hoopla

Here I venture again after a long siesta to jabber like a monkey.Books have always been a delight, unconditional uncomplaining companions through rain n shine, heaven n hell, between payday and doomsday & thick n thin.I regularly browse thru a plethora of material ranging from documentaries to comix to fiction.ah the list is endless.

Femina had deteriorated.Elle rocks.M&B sucks(now);), Indrajal still rules the comic roost closely followed by Asterix and Tintin.Debonair is well.raunchy at its best.Spirituality, metaphysics, fiction, management et al form the main mix.

While Crossword, Danai and Granth do form a formidable trio in catering to Mumbai readers' tastes, methinx they still leave a lot to be desired as far as reaching the not so common tastes go.A request submitted at Crossword, Danai and Granth gets lost in the milky way.no feedback as to the status.Horizon at Parle station(W) has excellent customer service. Now let me get back to the main course and not deviate.

In fiction, Paul Loup Sulitzer RULES.Am sure 98% of the readers will have this big question mark on their forehead.Well.he is a French writer whose books are translated into English. He was a self made millionaire at the age of 17.Has written quite a few books. The Green King(you may get this at the raddiwala), Hannah, Money etc.A lethal dose of action and ways to earn moolah.ye get the feeling at the end of the book that making money is not everyone's cup of tea.

One has to love money first.be intensely focussed allthrough the journey. Not everyone makes money and like I read somewhere anyone above 30 years of age who travels in a bus has been a failure in life.

Next in line is Eric Van Lustbader - again a heady mix of action, xxx - a mix of the Orient and the West.excellent foray into age old Japanese history.superbly combined with the present corporate culture.makes u imagine, swoon and inspires at the same time.

After these two, I cant bifurcate any more.but amongst those who matter and many cuts above the usual Jeffrey Archer, Sidney Sheldon and Harold Robbins.John Le Carre, Nelson Demille, Steve Martini, Wilbur Smith(A one author), James Follett(read his Mirage), Patricia Cornwell, Faye Kellerman are a must on any fiction readers desk.

As far as spirituality or as some may say philosophy goes, Osho sits merrily at the top.Explosive, brilliant and so insightful.Dont form an opinion from what ye may have heard from yer peers, family or the feckin newspapers.Take a peek into his books and be prepared for the unexpected.A legend.his thoughts are light years away.but if you look inside your heart and think about what he says you will admit that he is right.

Most know what he says is right but are afraid to admit or accept it in public.well.nearly all mirrors have two faces.

Jack Welch - Straight from the Gut is amazing. He shoots from the hip in no particular order but ye have to read the whole book once, twice and mucho more times to again and again admire the utterly ruthless brilliance of Welch.his ever burning energy and desire to be at the top always.Like I said earlier - focus and determination always 24/7 and ye will get what you want.

A little about me.am a compulsive reader.one book every two days along with the usual newspapers, magazines forms my diet.Anyone interested in selling Phantom and Mandrake Indrajal comics please touch base with me;)

Hasta luega.
