Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's assassination on October 31, 1984, sent shock waves across the country. The upcoming film, '31st October', which features Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das in lead roles, revolves around its aftermath. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Shivaji Lotan Patil — who won the honour for the Marathi film Dhag — it follows the travails of a Sikh family's fight for survival during the anti-Sikh riots in the Capital that broke out after the incident.
