Ahem.....I hate giving OBVIOUS reasons and explanations. See the small pic with the apparent lunatic (Leonidus in the movie) with that funky cloak and battered shield? You cannot expect him to be a "GENTLEman" as apparent. How would you react if I say that he along with 299 "soldiers" annihilate an army of men SO large in number, it would make most millitary generals puke and bite their toenails!!!
This is a movie STRICTLY meant to be seen in a theatre to enjoy fully. When 300 Spartans (The warrior race) roar in a houndlike fashion on victory or the call of their captain, with the dolby sound thundering your heart and shaking the ground, you can do the movie justice by atleast clapping....
The cinematography and effects are breathtaking and prepare to flinch as you'll see blood smearing over the 70mm screen and severed heads tossing in air like ragdolls. "It was a battle of 300 men against a million" - goes the introduction. Indeed, these 300 ROCK!!! The Spartan army proceeds plunging their staffs mercilessly into soldiers and making walls out of their dead torsos!
The Background music is also not dissapointing...Prepare for a hell lot of thundering noises. The dialogues and script are EXCELLENT. For instance, when an opponent Army Leader threatens to cover the sun and sky when all their archers would fire, the Spartan facing him smirks and replies, "So we'll fight in the shade..." The movie is filled with cheeky comments by the Spartans practically facing DEATH! These truly are men fighting for Freedom, for what they Believe, their Land and......their Honour.
Watch this one if you like war movies and historical ones. Trust me....It ain't gonna dissapoint you. And remember.....
NEVER SURRENDER
NEVER FALL ON YOUR KNEES
Even if the last option......is...........Death...
