Story:

So then lets see, there are books which you can finish within a day, there are books which you don't feel like reading after 10-12 pages and then there are books you can't stop reading, books you have to force yourself to pause at certain moments to highlight portions you want to remember, I'm pretty sure a lot might agree with my statement and the feeling that I share. It takes a big deal for an author to make his readers be soo attracted to the book that they feel like as if the book had glued itself with the hands of the readers. But yes one more point there are also books that you highlight so you don't fall asleep and manage to keep going. Yes, like a textbook. This is one of those. An instant classic written by Peter Carey who happens to be a well renounced Australian novelist, his pen is behind the award winning writings like "Oscar and Lucinda" and "True History of the Kelly Gang".

Now, lets talk about the book I read last week which I borrowed from my sister, it took my 2 days to finish the book and trust me it has to be an amazing plot to make me wanna finish a book within 2 days.Lets see, apart from the somewhat interesting bits of history of SYDNEY, the book is pretty much a journal of Carey's travels the marvelous city where the author had spent most of my adulthood.Jokes a side I was not interested in his(CAREY) weird dreams nor his sailing adventures but what kept me going was the hope that I'd pick up some good travelling tips for when and if I visit Sydney some day.It would be interesting to incorporate the locations he's featured in a travel itinerary for Sydney.I would have preferred a little more "travel guide" and less drama in this travelogue but I think this is what makes it so different from a Lonely Planet guide. As mentioned above it seemed to me more like a text book where I kept on highlighting the interesting parts, and it would appear to you more like a travel guide but it is an experience shared on true instances and adventure. My rating on the book would be 3.5/5 and it is a one time ride if you're not soo interested in the Australian culture or Sydney.
