3 Idiots - Enlightening Entertainer.
Most of the parents have very high academic and career expectations for their children, which some children cannot live up to. Further the parents want their children to study & work in a profession in which they have a good chance of succeeding economically. They feel that there is much potential for financial success in engineering, medicine, business management courses.But today’s students do not place the same priority on getting a high salary as their parents do. They might be more interested in a lower paying career that matches their interests or that provides emotional, spiritual, psychological, or self satisfaction, rather than monetary benefits.
Further education is not just mere securing of good grades and mugging up books. Rajkumar Hirani’s film 3 Idiots gives a simple but sincere message to chase excellence not success.
The story is definitely unusual but not unknown. The message that the story tries to convey is already known to us, but most of us just remain ignorant to it, But brilliant director Rajkumar Hirani has handled the theme brilliantly.
This movie is the adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s Five Point Someone,a lighthearted but enlightening and entertaining journey of three friends as they try to figure themselves out and share unforgettable experiences.
The story of 3 Idiots is very simple & beautiful, three engineering students Aamir (Rancho) Madhavan (Farhan Qureshi) and Sharman Joshi ( Raju rastogi) who believe in the IDIOT term, which means I Do It On My Terms.
Rancho a bright & free spirited engineering student who convinces his friends Raju Rastogi and Farhan Qureshi to chase excellence not success. Rancho successfully ends up changing the lives of his friends and suddenly disappears after graduation.
Farhan & Raju start their journey in search of their friend Rancho and move back to their college and hostel days and also remember about Rancho's relationship with Pia played by (Kareena Kapoor) and his challenges with an oppressive mentor 'Viru' played by (Boman Irani). Rest of the movie is the journey of Farhan and Raju to find their missing friend Rancho.
Performances are the highlight of the movie. Aamir Khan the most talented & versatile actor clearly stealing the show in the role of lively & optimistic Rancho. He is the life and soul of the movie. His perfection lies in the fact that he makes everything look so easy and spontaneous.
His expressions, body language, dialogue delivery are absolutely flawless. A performance that make the best of performances pale in comparison. A performance that merits a special award.
Kareena Kapoor looks gorgeous. She has less screen presence but this is amongst one of her most appealing acts. She gives her finest portrayal in recent times.
Madhavan has an easy screen presence and perfectly complements his costars. This is his best performance. He is splendid even with comedy. Sharman Joshi is very competent showing brilliance in both funny and emotional moments. Boman Irani is exceptionally good as the principal..
Director Rajkumar Hirnai after 'Munnabhai MBBS' and 'Laage Raho Munnabhai' hits the bull’s eye & lives up to the expectations. He deserves distinction marks for extracting exemplary performances from the entire team and handling the plot with supreme sensitivity.
Shantanu Moitra’s music is easy on the ears, specially the songs al Izz Well sung by Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Swanand Kirkire& Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh sung by Shann, Shantanu Moitra are very meaningful and melodious. K Muraleetharan’s cinematography is mesmeric and Hirani’s editing is flawless.
Hats off to Rancho (Aamir Khan) & director Rajkumar Hirnai .A great film which goes beyond expectations, 3 Idiots is surely the best film of the year. The finest part in the movie is the concept that indeed offers a food for thought.
Overall, 3 idiots is a good emotional, enlightening & entertainer with a important message for the parents, students & teachers. Everyone will completely enjoy this enlightening movie. It was a pleasant to see the movie receiving a standing ovation while the credits rolled. There is no second thought '3 Idiots' will become the biggest hit of the year.
3 Idiots the genius combination of director Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan brings magic on screen. My personnel opinion is that this movie should be inducted into the course curriculum of prominent colleges & universities .This movie not only exposes all the problems of students, but finds a solution for it.
