This is one of those very few movies that is throughly entertaining, and also sends a strong message. Having watched the movie I can see how the general public may not like the message that is conveyed in the movie. It takes quite an open minded person to accept what is happening in society.
india's tertiary education is quite rigid as compared to universities abroad. Abroad you can choose papers as you go. What's likeable about the movie is that it deal's with a lot of serious issues with a wacky twist to it. So although you should not be laughing at someones poor parents, its shown in such a hilarious way that you find yourself laughing at that.
It also shows how every indian that can afford to, tries to be a doctor or an engineer. There is nothing wrong with it, but so little emphasis is placed in the arts or creativity. As for the scenes, some of them were so breathtaking that I could not believe that that was India.
