Are you in the mood for a girly movie night? Then look no further as '27 Dresses' fits your bill, without the assisstance of a Kleenex box.

Jane Nichols(Katherine Heigl) has been a bridesmaid twenty seven times, but never a bride.Like any other independent city girl she hopes to fall in love and select her own bridesmaids one day.Unfortunately, either Jane's a loner or she has no luck whatsoever at romance. She happens to fancy her boss,George(Edward Burns) who falls head-over-heels in love with her younger sister,Tess(Malin Ackerman).Unfortunately,Jane is appointed the bridesmaid's post.Poor Jane not only has to tolerate her 'crush' getting married to her sibling, but also that Tess is a major 'Bridezilla'.Along the way comes Kevin Doyle(James Marsden) who writes wedding announcements under the pen name,Malcolm Doyle. He hopes to become a serious reporter in the future & is frustrated that his boss doesn't realise his full potential. He finds Jane interesting and decides to make her his 'cover story'.

I didn't feel the need to go on further about the plot since it's very simple to figure out the end. It's easy to say that the storyline is nothing new.Infact if I have to judge it from a feminine sense of view,Jane's character seems pathetic. On the other hand, looking at it from a romantic comedy fan's mindset, this movie is worth having popcorn over.James Marsden is very natural in his role. It's interesting to see him do something else other than play side characters. But Katherine Heigl steals the show with her cute expressions.Edward Burns is not only handsome, but fits George's personality like a glove.Malin Ackerman is quite a looker plus she can act!She can surely fit the roles of mean cheerleaders and snobbish rich folk.My mum found the storyline a bit too 'Milles & Boon',I don't blame her as even amateurs can figure out the climax. If you've watched too much of 'Grey's Anatomy' and like Katherine Heigl only in such roles, then you might want to skip this. But I've never watched the series(shocker,I know),so I have nothing to refer to.I have watched the full 'Roswell' series and have no qualms about her experience to play new characters. The 'Devil Wears Prada' writers didn't create the same magical experience we felt with the aforementioned movie, but this one is a good follow up.

This is your average romantic comedy with nothing new to offer.Watch it just for Katherine Heigl.

Final grade- B-,look out for George's cute dog! Also, watch the end where Jane finally walks the aisle.I personally found that scene very sweet.
