Kishore kumar  was born on 4th august 1929 at khandawa in

Madhyapradesh(India)

kishore's Mai hu zumroo voice, was the voice of youth in India " .Kishore's was a pahadi voice with characterstic tenderness, softness, & extraordinary depth. He is favorite singer of sharaukh khan, Neil mukesh the grandson of Mukesh.

Kishore is a craze even today!  we constantly listen his voice

"Bachana Ae hasino" reincluded in the movie. Amongst  contemporary

legends kishore is most remembered today by current youth and his

songs like "chookar mere manko", "ho mre dilki chaain", "dil kya kare"   toe tapping "dekha na hi re socha na ". He employed modern style of singing reflected in the

song "mere sung sung aaya teri yado ka mela" . He

usually had

alaaps of "ha he." rather than usual "Aa" even in songs like " Tere

mere milan ki raina",  " Do panchi do tinke kaho leke chale hai kahan".

At the peak of his carrer ihis song was specially included later ln the already musical hit movie

"Geet gata chal "  & advertised

in newspapers. Please do not miss added song sung by kishore! . He introduced

yodelling. Being a sugam singer he did not beleive much in

allaps & he  was not trained. Yet he used electrifying taan which can

be praciced by only clasical singers in songs,  "Aankhome Me hamne

apke sapane sajaye hai" a duet with Lata( Lata does not use this

variation) & " Jab bhi koi kangana bole paaya khanak jaye " . His talent was spotted by khemchand Prakash and S.d burman

RD burman  made  kishore sing

"Hume tumse pyar kitana" in soft emotional voice with sheer impact of

voice against the Parvenn sultana classical mujra version. This was the

only experiment of it's kind in Boll**ywood and kishore's version was the first choice of rd burman when he came on radio.

The song "ye Jeevan hai" from piya ka Ghr is sung in a voice softer

than lori songs .So is the subtle depth and softness in the song " Zindagi ka

safr hi ye kaisa safar" &  the song "Jeevan se na haar jeenevale"

which was a moral booster for soldiers in kargil war. Who can

forget the mesmerising and divine  voice in th song "kab tak

andhere chlate rahenge" in Bato Bato me( composer  rajesh

roshan) . . Apart rom lata

kishore was the only singer who had  divine voice. No wonder

Lata, Asha, Manna dey, s.d Burmn and R.d burman rate him as best

amongs the male legends and so from  year 1969 with Aradhana songs kishore

was crownedas c number one playback singer and he retained it till his

death on 13 th october 1987 when he left us singing his own composition

"panthi u me us path ka ant nahi jisa ka"**.

With the song "Jeevan ke safr me rahi" kishore and sachinda  began.  kishore sang in "chanchal voice" of youth "Nakhare wali" to

steal the hearts of girls. Kishore gave expression to romntic love by

singing the ghazal  *, *and "pyar ki anokhi

duniya ka Ijahar kiya",  "pal pal dil ke pas " kahate hue!

"Pyar me jab alagav aaya to aap ga pade, "* wo shyam uch ajib thi" *and

gave vent to the feeling of heartbreak as *" dil aj shyar hai gam aaj

nagma hai" . *To reflect the pain in life he sang *" chingari koi

bhadake"

When he was fade  up he sang *" koi lauta de mere bete hue din" *but to

revoke hope he sang "A chal ke tuze mai eke chalu"   * .Kishore ne Zindagi

ko alag andaj me jataya   "Zindagi ek safar hai suhana" He gave expession

to philosophy of life very subtly in "Aaneala pal jaane wala hai".

By singing the song "Tum bin jau kaha" he demonstarted tht a singer's

talent can make such a gr8t difference to a song! when you listen his

beautiful rendition of the semiclassical high pitched song "Mere naina

sawan bhado" where his voice is deep even at high pitch one  senses  that art and artiste is the gift of nature. He

sang classical song "Payaawalili dekh na"

He gave expression to the pain of lonliness in" *Koi hota jisko apna

kahalate yaro*" and "kio humdum a raha!" Perhaps such voice emerge once

in centuries and he has left us on octber 13, 1987 reminding us that

"zindagi ka safr hai ye kaisa afr koi amaza nahi koi jana nahi"

A critque: It is surpriing that composers like naushad, roshan,

o.p nayyar used kishore's voice seldomly and shanker jaikihan abandoned

his voice in sixties .

With  deep voice, a great range,  composers

barring rd burman rarely used the variety in his voice. when one hears

mesmerizing "kab tak andhere chalate rahenge udasi bhae din kabhi

dur honge" one really feels that bollywood failed to do justice to this

graet voice. .Composers of 50s did not use him  and

composers of later years exploited his voice commercially  With  op

nayyar kishore's "piya piya " kare jiya

pukare scores  and "meri nindo me tum " is a

great duet.       kishores rendition  of  "Maine tumse kuch nahi

manga" for "katha" composer  Ram laxman is  superb!  . His best as a

singer also comes under his own compositions! HE sang many excellent

songs in

last stage of his carear in eighties last being " kabhi ho ti nahi

jiski har wo hai pyar" in 87 .

he

sang for amitabh, rajesh khana", dev anand, sanjivkumar, jeetendra, anil kapur, Govinda, shashi, raj, shammi

kapur, jackie, kamal hasan, rajanikant, Dilipkumar, father -sons  rajendra

kumar(- kumar gaurav, Sunil dutt -

sanjay dutt, rishikapur-ranvir dharmendra-sunny, Mehmood, pran,  reflecting

their personlity!

He refused to sing in support of

emergency .Govt banned his songs for a year resulting in comeback of rafi! .He received maximum filmfare

awards.

Perhaps time has given justice to kishore! More than any other singer

kishore is craze today! in youth!
