I have a similar story myself which increased my curiosity about this book and then I decided to read it. There is just the right amount of humor so as to not deviate from the actual story and I have actually been a fan of Chetan Bhagat's book for quite some time now mainly for its witty dialogues, simplicity and how it focuses on little things and makes it something big and beautiful.
Half Girlfriend, A night at the call center, Revolution 2020, 3 mistakes of my life are other of his works which are just good as this one. I believe every writer has their own style which distinguishes them from another and this one is particularly distinguishing.
