Story:

Yes, it may look like a hindi film family drama, melodramatic a bit but Chetan has this flair in his writing (I did not mean the english language) which keeps everyone engrosed, however silly it may be.

He has this ability to make his readers glued because of many crazy moments and twists, though predictable at times. About his writing, he may sound ameteurish at times but who cares man.... and who is keen for a spell check or checking of grammers.

Story is simple, he may not proclaim that this is his own story but when you read it yes you will some or the other ways think as him as a main lead. OK back to the story, well it shows 2 different people from 2 different states, Punjab (offen over exagerated in all our films and you will feel the same here also.

And Tamil Nadu (very conservative, religious by thoughts even though many of them pretend to be the way), by the way talking about Tamilians, there are 2 types of them one tamil Brahmins and other Non Brahmins, both are poles apart (anyways I am not trying to get into any controversy). Now that this boy meets girl in their college days and fall in love. Chetan tried to give a more urbanized or I can say very modern approach like the Main lead KRISH and ANANYA stay together in a hostel room (it may not sound as modern in today), I guessed this story was during 10 years before, maybe , mid 90s. There are some funny moments and also lovable once during the dating period, which is well captured by Chetan.

So moving forward Krish and Ananya decide that they need to woo their parents and get them together before marraige..... this is where their life gets screwed. Krish gets himself transffered to Chennai (Citi bank),  tries to be friendly with her family, goes to an extent to give tution to Ananya's brother (Chetan scores here as he tries to show that how crazy are TAMILIANS about studies. One sentence used by him is "getting a % below 90 in here is a SIN). In this process, Chetan tries to explore more on Chennai life and believe me or not it has quite hillarious moments, Actually when a non tamilian stays in Chennai, he will not only be left alone but also find most of the people out there funny and at times crazy. The working culture, employees (how they behave). There is a lot of Citibank bashing as Krish works for Citi in this. Especially people see having BOOZ in chennai as disgraceful act, eventhough everyone has it hiddenly....

You can say Second half where Ananya goes to Delhi to woo their parents a bit boring and I feel this was a bit let down in this book. It shows a over spending punjabi wedding with all those dance and money showering business in marriages (which is shown to death by our hindi film makers).

Finally both family agree and alls well ends well approach you will see in almost all his books. Same here, but some funny moments are captured in a Tamil Wedding Ceremony and at the last where many northie people feel it is like a mourning more than wedding celebration, which I must admit a true to an extent. Tamil Weddings are a bit boring if you are a northie.

Finally I would say worth a read for one time, maybe when you are on long journey or getting bored, you will surely get refreshed after reading this
