1942 -A Love Story ison of the most path breaking musical work of my geeration. My generation was knee deep in the mud of Double meaning songs like "Choli Ke Peeche" when I heard one of the most romantic songs of my times after Quamat se Quamat Tak. " Ek LARKI KO DEKHA " is not just another song for my generation, as it introduces us to the Boss of indian Movie Music R.D.Burman. Before this album RD was just a forgotton genius of bygone era. This album introduce us to beauty of indian Classical music in symphony with western equipments. The resul was a sheer magic. Right from "Kuch Na Kaho" to "Yeh Safar Bahut hai Kathin Magar" all are timeless gems, which can provide goosebumps to us when ever we hear them. This music is also extremly important as its the same time when we heard a distant quality of divine music in a Movie called "Roja". We finally found the heir to R.D's Legacy in the shape of A.R. RAHMAN. With Roja 1942 A love Story will always be rememberd as one of the most path breaking musical album of our times. This album by R.D was a fitting finale from the Genius & it saves us from the ignomity of being called a sthe generation which have ears only for Double meaning Songs.

The pictuisation of these songs also throw light on the another genius called Sanjay leela Bhansali who was the song director for the movie. Each song is worth a gold as it not only remind us the treasure of vast indian traditional music but also make us feel happy when we sing it in front of our peers. My generation of "Choli ke Peeche" was transformed to the generation of "Ek larki ko dekha to aisa laga".

All thje conousiers of indian music should hear this album as it really one of the rare genuine indian but extremly romantic & popular of my geration.
