A movie which is the brainchild of Vikram Bhatt highlights the audacious attempt of the director in dealing with a horror based storyline which has frequently been repeated in a variety of Bollywood as well as Hollywood.

The theme deals with exorcism of a married female who has been possessed by an evil spirit which haunts a non residential mansion. The aesthetic charm of the era is meticulously portrayed in the movie. The movie begins with the chanting of Hanuman Chalisa by the lead actor who is in love with a Christian female.

His family is against their relationship and inspite of the fervent opposition he chooses to spend his life with her.He gets posted to a place in which he is supposed to reside in a palatial residence. His wife experiences haunting presence in the house and even hears strange voices at night time. She explores a corner of the house in which he witnesses a huge portrait of a female.

She gets friendly with the priest of a nearby church and discusses the issue with him.He blesses the house with holy water but feels himself being suffocated.later he sees blood running on the wall of the church. He gets highly shocked by the event. He wants to tell the female about the threat to her life but she is found unavailable at home.

The female gets attacked by an unknown spirit and she gets affected by its evil presence. She is carried to a hospital but her weird behaviour is highly visible to everyone. She even gets a deadly voive owing to the possession. The doctors lose hope and her husband is highly frustrated to see his wife in such a deplorable condition. He decides to pay a visit to the matron of the house who eventually tells him the reason behind the spate of events. She explains him that the house was previously occupied by a freedom fighter whose family used to stay in the royal mansion.

Suddenly an incident takes place in which a hurt male reaches their house.Out of compassion they treat him well and he gets back to a healthy condition.Later they get to know that he happens to be a traitor. The lady of the house attracts him physically and informs her father of his presence in the house. Her father arrives in the town and hangs him in one of the rooms of the mansion.

The man threatens of revenge after death but the female is unharmed in that birth. She takes another birth in the form of the Christian female who gets affected by the evil spirit.

When her husband arrives back in town he consults the same priest who was friendly with her.Unfortunately the priest gets attacked by the spirit and he dies during the deadly attack. The husband is unable to bear this helpless condition and decides to remember his favourite God

Lord Hanuman by reciting hanuman chalisa. The spirit is forced to leave the body of the female after certain attacks on the husband of the female. Finally they live happily everafter.

The theme deals with revenge of past life but due to divine intervention the concerned female escapes an untimely death.

It also focusses on the power of Lord Hanuman in driving out evil spirits. But the movie lacked substance on an overall basis due to lack of spine chilling intriguing voices. But the histrionics of the leading lady deserve roaring applause.
