I was sceptical of bruce willis in 16 blocks. Primarily cos , well he looked like hes past his prime. He was good in 'Selvin' & 'Sin city' but he was only a small part of a very strong cast. Well '16 Blocks' came as a pleasant suprise.
For starters Bruce rocks. He is not trying to defy his age but instead looked the part every minute playing Jack Mosley a Pot bellied, alchoholic, lazy cop who just wants to survive each day consuming all the booze he can take. He is paired with a criminal who is soon to take the witness stand with a price on his head. The role is played by Mos Def, whos done a great job as a vunerable, fast talking crook. They just have to make it sixteen blocks to the court but things arent as easy as they started out. The magic combo of Bruce and Mos carry the movie with ease. David Morse plays the baddie, one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood does great as always.
The plot is not path breaking, but is easily justified by the performances as well as the direction. There is not much action or gore but is definitely fast paced. i'll easily recommend this to anyone.
I'm looking forward to Die hard 4 where he is pitted against Martial arts god Tony Jaa,
A http://www........Bruce is back.
