Read the review titled ''real illusions'' by Samsat - it very appropriately covers the narrative.

I thought the end was very brave and intelligent. Typically, movies from India are made ''playing safe'' so that the viewer is not required to think [if they do not think, they cannot massacre an idea:)]. Tons of movies I've watched have the villain screaming his intent and thus reducing the image of the hero so someone who cannot envisage what could be the villain's action!

Anyway. This movie talked of a problem that could be anywhere, with anyone and after beautifully navigating through it, brings us to a juncture where we have to decide what would happen next, if we were the ones involved. A very thought provoking movie, although the immediate reaction would be ''God I hope this does not happen to me''. What if it did?

Last evening, a group of friends and I were talking of it and almost all of them nodded knowingly when I was the only one who indicated I had loved the movie. The common refrain was that the end was baffling. I was challenged as to what the end meant to me. I did respond and asked them what they thought the end would be - a pregnant silence followed.

This is a brilliant movie made and has superlative performances from Shabana Azmi [who still can beat most current era 'actresses' with her blending into the role], Konkona Sen - who gets better and better with each performance - for those who have been less fortunate in not watching her performance in Mr and Mrs Iyer, I strongly recommend it. That gives you an idea of the versatility she has. Rahul Bose - a little role given the focus on the earlier two. Shefali Chayya - an even more little role but enough to take note.
