I am a die hard fan of the horror genre - be it books or movies. To such a person, 13 B amply satisfied my hunger for a sensible movie sans garish make up and ear splitting background music.
Each time a so called scary movie releases, we hope to experience some moments of real fear, each time we are let down badly.
Ram Gopal Varma and the Ramsays' take the viewers for a ride every time. Your ears are subjected to shrill shrieks and grating music, your eyes are subjected to garish make up, grotesque masks and laughable situations.
This movie steers clear of all this. Quite a scary movie, with elements of real life believable drama. The television is used as a means of creating horror fear successfully. Along with fear, you get a vague spooky feeling, which is more frightening than 'in your face horror'. Thankfully, no sidetracks, interminable songs etc, etc. Acting is superlative, so is the cinematography and the direction.
Yo!.
