I had seen it quite a few times while driving down the road and it looked quite appealing because of its name and especially because of the enterance where a double decker bus had been erected. So, last Saturday, me and my wife decided to give it a visit. We reached there quite early at 8:30 and so were able to get a nice table. As I entered the restaurant I was hugely impressed by the setup. I have been to Londoan twice and seen those famous London streets flonged by cafes, restaurants, pubs etc. The same environment was tried to be created over here and it was not a bad job. The first impression of the restaurant was 10/10.
We were seated on a two-chair table near a pretty fountain. To start with we ordered some'Chili Cheese Balls' with couple of beers. Cheese Balls were good but not chili as mentioned in the menu. We got our order well in time.
But afterwards, the things started getting a little bit deterioted. May be it the staff was not being able to handle the constant arrival of foodies because after half-an-hour the whole restaurant was jam-packed with more people waiting outside for their turn. Consequently, the service got lousy. The waiter served the beer but didn't open them. I had to call another one to open them. The service for food afterwards also became quite slow and it was hard to find any waiter and to get his attention.
The food was quite yummy. For main course we ordered a dish of roast lamb and a chicken dish. The dishes were exquisitively presented and were treat to the taste buds. The menu of the restaurant was quite diversed with everything from Mexican to Continental to Indian. And add to that the price were quite reasonable. We didn't order andy dessert for ourselves but looking at other tables for what others were having, it seemed that the place is famous for desserts because everyone of them was looking quite tempting.
Overall, it is a good restaurant for weekend dinners with friends or family. The location of the restaurant adds to its charm. Any given saturday, you can arrive at MG Road, do some roaming around, shopping etc and then dine at 11 Street Cafe.
