Hi, sad to read this. Sony has a history of poor quality optics in their DVD & CD players. I've myself owned a Sony Hi-Fi and a car CD player. My Hi-Fi's entire lens mechanism has been replaced once. My friend's car CD player stopped working after a year and he was asked to pay Rs.4.5K for a replace...ment lens! He went out and bought a Pioneer CD player for 5K! Sonys are also notorious for not being able to read discs that are not 100% perfect. Hence, if you have tiny scratches on the disc or if its an MP3 or self-burnt movie, chances are a Sony will not be able to read it.Read More
