It is running an scheme by which the existing home loan can be charged back to the base rate, by paying Rs. 3000 while I heard SBI does that without any charges. As compared to other banks reducing the floating rate from as high as 11.25% to just 10% for all existing customers, don't know why IDBI is adamant and continues to charge us at 11%. While I'm exploring with SBI, surely the next loan is not from IDBI

IDBI allows for only 4 pre-payments in a financial year provided the minimum amount is Rs. 50,000 My concern is not on pre-payments but to transfer loan to another bank which is gross 2 - 3 % of the outstanding amount.

Thanx seshadri, I indeed went for IDBI teaser home loan with fixed interest of 8.25% till Mar-12. However they forced me to go in for home insurance (extra amount of Rs 4500) before disbursement
