Dear Jaykumar, The Indigo CS can be converted to run on AutoLPG. Tatas had appointed Shrimankar Auto as an Authorised fitment centre for AutoLPG. The warranty on the car would be honored only if the retrofitment is done by Shrimankar. This was when I bought my car in March 08. Before actually buyi...ng a petrol Indigo or converting it to LPG, you'd need to know this: 1. If you are from Mumbai city, you would note that AutoLPG outlets are almost absent in the city - I know only one in Bandra and another in Chembur! CNG stations abound in Mumbai, while AutoLPG is available outside Mumbai city. 2. Converting the Diesel Indigo CS to CNG was another option, which I ruled out because CS had not yet received the RTO's approval for such conversion. Again, CNG availability outside Mumbai is a big question mark. I had a pre-owned Esteem that I had converted to run on AutoLPG. My experience - SUPERB. I did 27,000 km in the Esteem on AutoLPG - no hassles at all. The pick up does drop a bit & the drag is noticeable on a ghat, but then I did not want to win a car race! In heavy city traffic, AutoLPG gave me about 9 kmpl, the highway mileage was about 15 kmpl, both figures achieved with the AC. In short, the mileage drops by about 2 kmpl, but the money saved is HUGE. Your observations about the seating space in the Indigo is correct. I have driven about 500 km in a day with my parents (70+) seated behind - no complaints. The seats are comfortable and the legroom is adequate. The Indigo can accommodate 3 in the rear seats comfortably ... something unimaginable in the compact cars. And long journeys in a compact car are nightmares, especially if you have luggage as well. The Indigo CS has a spacious 350 litre boot ... good enough to accommodate the luggage of a family of five. My suggestion - the Indigo CS is great. Petrol/Diesel is your choice. The alternate fuel would depend upon WHERE you are going to drive - Mumbai city or outside.Read More

@sachins55 Thanks for your genereous comments. Color .... well, my earlier Esteem was dark green, and the harsh Mumbai sun used to heat it up a lot. My silver Indigo is much better! Its a very common shade, but I guess, it turned out to be one of the many wise decisions I've taken! A lighter shade ...is better, and that is my opinion. The brochure has a gold for the CS, but I've never seen one on the road. My music system is a JVC with Pioneer speakers....nothing fancy - so long as I get good, clear sound to keep me entertained. I have not the slightest idea on the rear spoiler stuff! You would need to fit an anti-theft system additionally, (Autocop, or equivalent) as the CS does not come with central-locking features. The AC seems a lot better (cooling-wise) in the CS as compared to the Indica. I would not be in a position to compare, as I have not driven an Indica as much to test / compare the AC with the one that the CS has.Read More

@ spaceinteractive Kasal was the place I had to drive down to - from Tarkarli, because the other vehicle with us on the trip (an Indica) developed complications with the AC. Turned out that the Subros AC fitted in most Tata cars have this issue. And yes, the one-man service centre at Kasal is a TAS...C!Read More

Not much of a review, more of a query in itself ...... and the rest is a copy from the manufacturer's SpecSheets.

I agree with you on the finishing & finesse part, and as you rightly said, the price point is too attractive to ignore for the CS. However, the Tata Service Centres in large towns and cities are the only ones that can offer you reliable service. On this trip, we needed to have the AC of the accompan...ying Indica repaired .... It was a nightmare! The Authorised Service Centre at Kasal is a one-man show - so this gentleman (a really nice person, Mr. Parab) does everything from the towing to the repairing. I guess I'm lucky to be staying in a city!Read More

I've been using my Tata Indigo CS - LS for a month now. It's my first diesel vehicle, and I switched over to it from the Maruti Esteem, on which I had used the LPG option extensively. My pre-sales queries were handled very well by Fortune Cars, Navi Mumbai, and by the Product Sales Manager at th...Read more

Venkatesh - the website you refer to is NOT that of the Consumer Forum. It appears to be a Public Interest Group. Again, like Anandrajan has said above, the list reads like an encyclopaedia of the Corporate World, with the Nokias and the Godrejs also finding mention. That's not as if to say that Cou...ntry Club is clean - In fact they should re-name themselves as 'CON'TRY CLUB!!Read More

I've been using the 6630 for a little over a week now - I traded it for my 6600 as I found it toooo slow ...... I would certainly recommend it to Nokia lovers, and even first time users. The 6630 features an exceedingly smooth and intuitive user interface, as has been the tradition with Nokia. I...Read more
