I flew from Coimbatore to Hyderabad on IndiGo and I was very pleased with the airport! The security was advanced and the baggage claim was great! It was a very good experience! ...Read more

I had the experience of flying in the MD-11 from Amsterdam to Hyderabad. It's an old airplane, and the seats were faded. Also, the spacing between seats is non-existent. Very unpleasant leg of the journey, which started in Toronto. Overall, KLM was a very good experience, but the MD-11 needs to ...retire...Read More

I'm not sure if this is the one which I had the misfortune of flying from in '93. All I remember was the smell of urine and birds flying around inside. I couldn't believe it was an airport!

It is very pathetic that this type of segregation occurs in this day and age. I have never flown by Air France, nor will I consider it.

I took KLM on my most recent trip to India. The aircraft from Amsterdam to Hyderabad was an MD-11. These are probably the oldest KLM jets which are currently active. I was fortunate to have a fairly good experience with KLM, especially with their people at Amsterdam airport. Also, I don't recall ...having any stickers put on my passport. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to fly KLM in the future. But, most likely it will be Emirates since it now flys out of Toronto.Read More

The Party has been one of my favourite movies ever since I had the opportunity to see it. It was produced in 1968, but the humour and presentation of the story will never go out of style. Peter Sellers' acting as an Indian is excellent!!!

I have never travelled by Indian Railways till my most trip to India. The exterior of the train and the way people looked out the window reminded me a little of prisoners being sent to a jail. The train itself looked like it was over 100 years old. The interior with the vinyl seats and overflowing... garbage container was not very appealing nor comfortable. I was told by my cousin that train travel is a necessity in India, not out of choice. I have written a review on my first hand experience on the Sabari Express.Read More

I agree that these pay washrooms discriminate against those with no money. No, fortunately, I have not seen any pay washrooms in either US or Canada. My experience with Indian public washrooms was very limited, actually, I only visited 2 of them. They were both very clean. Granted, this does no...t make me a 'Indian public washroom expert', just my experiences. I have seen several ones attached to gas stations, which were nearly impossible to step inside. But, the same could be said for some in the US and Canada. Yes, definitely, it is the people that make the difference in how the washroom is kept. Thank you for the great comments.Read More

You have touched upon many, if not all, of the important aspects of being on MS, in a carefully worded, solid piece of writing. I do appreciate people's comments (either positive or negative) after reading any of my reviews. Constructive criticism allows the individual to improve. Ratings are... important to let the person know how they felt about the review, besides getting easy MS points :) Very good work! Philip Read More

This washroom was in Kerala, a place called Velli Tourist Centre. Maybe that's why it was cleaner than usual. Thanks for the comment.

The ones which charged one rupee, from my experience, were the 'pay as you go' type. These were much cleaner than the usual public ones which I saw. A good and humorous review, Harry! Philip

Experience with Indian Public Washrooms When I was visiting India recently, I witnessed many'Pay as you Go' type of public toilets.  The ones which I saw were located near amusement parks and places where large groups of people gather.  I never seen one of these before, so I went to one.  The...Read more

I never heard of any payment plan on MS. I know there are MS points for several things. Is this what you are referring to? I believe that everyone should be given an equal opportunity to voice their opinions, regardless of where they live in the world. Philip

Actually, I was born in New Delhi. I've been hearing that the traffic problems, which I experienced in Hyderabad, and not exclusive. It seems to occur in any large city. I just don't see it very often since Toronto is such a small city compared to anywhere in India. Thanks for your comments.

Well, you can say I am a tourist in India, having lived in Canada for almost my whole life. In no way did I intend to say that only Hyderabad has the traffic problems. I'm sure it exists in Bangalore, Madras, Bombay etc. My only experience has been with Hyderabad traffic on this recent visit. I... do agree that 2 wheelers are popular mainly because of the cost, but it really is strange how some of the think that the road belongs to them. I appreciate your comment.Read More

Yes, I saw some traffic police, but they just wag a very long stick...one time they stopped the autorickshaw I was driving in because the officer said the license plate numbers were too small. He gave the auto driver a 50 rupee fine. I got out to look at the licence plate and it was like every oth...er one which I saw. I felt sorry for him, so I paid his fine...the numbers were large enough for anyone to see. Thanks for the comment.Read More

On my recent visit to Hyderabad, I had to go to several places in the downtown area. I was truly amazed at the amount of 2-wheelers! It seemed that 8/10 vehicles was either a scooter or a motorcycle. I witnessed many of the 2-wheeler drivers cutting in front of other cars and squeezing between ...Read more

Yes, that is good advice to pack lemon rice as it doesn't spoil as easily. I travelled by train when I went from Hyderabad to Palghat and back. It was on the Sabari Express. The catering company is always coming back offerering coffee, chai etc. I did order the breakfast, idli and vada, which wa...s not very good...usually the train rides are very long, my trip was 25 hours...difficult to pack food for all the meals involved, since there is no facility to heat the food. Good review overall!Read More

Although I had some problems with KLM (older plane, no IFE's etc.), these were very minor compared with the experience in some other flights which I took. They should have had the newer 777's to Hyderabad.
