Thanks rreiger for your comments. After all these comments help encourage a lot. Just to give an update I have upgraded to Windows 7 64bit and it works superb. I think the prices have reduced with introduction of the intel core i5 processor. Anyway there are many good reviews of this product.

@Garv Buddy, I disagree with some of the points you mentioned : 1) Default model of dell studio 14 comes with T6600 processor(T6400 in last month when i ordered it). As I have mentioned, we have option to customize in Dell, so I opted for the P8700 processor 2) Regarding 500gb processor eat...ing battery power, i agree 3) DELL has really bad customer support 4) Studio 14 comes with either integrated graphics card or 512 mb ati radeon which you can select. I went in for the integrated graphics option as this consumes comparitively less battery power and also i do not play any form of games. I agree that discrete graphics is always better, but less difference in performance if ur only watching movies. anyway the extra 4gb ram that i have taken also helps get a decent performance. 5) Regarding low consumer rating, im not sure about that ... probably it just entered into the market about a month back, tat may be the reason 6) Speakers may not be that great but it works fine. 7) Portability was the major requirement, so i went in for 14'.Read More
