Hi, I posses tata safari and my experience after covering 9000 KM’s is 1. Handling --> Except for the turning radius, I found it as comfortable as car. In fact the braking system is more powerful then the cars I have driven. This may be due to the fact that it is heavy. I have driven ...in fields, where I have to make my way, in roads where it has completely spoilled. If you are buying please go for 4X4. 2. Stability at high speed --> It is very stable at high speeds. You don’t feel the speed until you reach 120. You need not have to worry about small humps. 3. Maintenance --> I can’t comment on this as my safari is just 8 months old. In past I had tata indica and Santro. I agree when compared with the petrol engine the maintenance of diesel vehicle is higher. In fact what ever you save on fuel you end up spending on Maintenance. With 8 months and 9000 KM’s I have not spent any rupee on maintenance, but please don’t consider this as yard stick. - Nagesh Read More

You have said in your mail that you were driving Santro earlier, which is petrol engine and now you are driving the diesel engine. As you may be aware, diesel engines are slugish engines when compared to that of petrol. When trying to release the clutch, initially you will have these kinds of i...ssues. Even I had similar issues when I shifted from Santro to Tata Indica. In any used vehicles there will be problems (Hard reality), use your judgement whether you can live with the problem till next service or is it urgent to get it fixed immediatelly. Show it to a friend who has driven Tata Safari earlier, ask him to compare and see. Hope this will help you. Nagesh Read More

Even I have brought Safari Dicor VTT 2.2 3 months back. I use it only driving out side city. The ride is very smooth. It is now 5000 KM's, out side city I am getting about 13 KMPL and with in city it is 8-9 KMPL based on traffic. It is a good vehicle.
