72 hours have passed since I burnt my fingers due to defective water geyser of Crompton Greaves. I have heard no apology from them but lot of cock and bull stories about how and why the thermostat can get damaged. I have had a technician visiting my place day before yesterday (21 July 2008) who t...ried to replace the variable thermostat with the static one taking the plea that all defective thermostats are defective. Yesterday (22 July 2008) no one called and no one visited. The defective water geyser is just hanging on the bathroom wall reminding me of the terrible consequences of what could have happened had my little daughter opened the tap. Hello Puneet, This saga has not ended yet. Yesterday a mechanic from Crompton Greaves visited my place. Upon inspection he told that someone has tempered with the thermostat of Crompton Greaves Geyser as it was broken. How could someone get inside a sealed piece to break the themostat. As he ...was changing the thermostat I noticed that he was replacing it with a static thermostat which would render the knob that controls the temperature just a show piece. Let me explain further. The new Crompton Greaves geyser comes with a variable thermostat that can be controlled with a knob that sets the temperature at which the cutoff happens. When asked why did he replace with the static one, he replied that static one is better and there are complaints with the variable thermostat. I asked that guy to leave immediately and told him to get the defective Crompton Greaves Geyser changed. I am prepared to bite the financial bullet on this. CG has been sending out defective pieces to the consumers and this has to stop. Don't buy CROMPTON GREAVES WATER GEYSER. Regards PrashantRead More
