Great review. Does full justice to an excellent movie. And as much as I hate to admit it, my eyes too were moist towards the end.

Last night I watched Aamir Khan’s directorial debut “Taare Zameen Par”, and I can’t stop gushing about it. Easily, it is one of the best movies made in recent times. And kudos to Aamir for letting the kid walk away with all the credit, and underplaying his superstar status very carefully. It tak...Read more

Dear Rajat, I hate giving NU ratings but I am extremely tempted to do so after reading this review. Your review reeks of regional bias, and a total ignorance of music. You call Raja Hassan a DOG, which I find extremely disrespectful for a fairly decent singer like Raja. In the recent episode where h...e sang Haji Ali, I agree his voice seemed a little strained during the high notes but that in no way makes him a bad singer, and certainly doesnt make him a DOG as you call him. Please remember that the original song was sung by AR Rehman whose scale is probably impossible for any contemporary singer to match. Secondly, you seem to have a vendetta against Vishal-Shekhar going by your tirade against them. V-S are the only guys who make sense most of the times, and they are the only who kept insisting that participants should display versatility rather than sing only one genre. While you are entitled to your likes and dislikes, please refrain from abusing people. Further, you must remember that these people who you have dismissed as people without even 0.5% knowledge in music, have been churning out superhits for years. So please keep that ego under check when criticizing others.Read More

@Ilyasmd: I dont think you even read the review, and simply decided to rate it. I have not written that Dravid is a bad captain or bad player. I have, in fact, tried to defend the criticism that he has had to face by the Ganguly backers. Frankly, I dont have an issue if you find it NU for some valid... reasons, but in your case, I think you are plain trigger-happy.Read More

@hakoonamatata: Yep, Saurav's a better captain, but Dravid's probably a more complete player. And what do I say abt the follow-on fiasco...plain stupid.

@Sandy06: I agree completely that the decision to not ask England to follow on was pretty stupid. Just goes to show the team is still not very confident of batting on the last day. However, it was mentioned right at the beginning of day 4 that India wont ask England to follow on since the team manag...ement had decided against it. So I am not sure if it was Rahul's decision alone. But nevertheless, it was a very defensive decision.Read More

@hakoonamatata: Thanks for educating me on the HR Haters jargons :) I agree his acting in the movie is not upto the mark, and in fact, he does more acting on the SRGMP show, although it is completely uncalled for, than he did in the movie. But the music is pretty decent, I must say.

@Chintu25: I know what you mean. He is so full of histrionics that it is truly difficult for any sane person to like him. But yet, you cannot deny that he is one of the most successful composers and singers in recent times. And thats what makes him such an enigma. In short, I don't like him as a per...son, but I have to admire the way he has marketed himself.Read More

“Ooooooooh Ooooooh………” If you have lived in India during the last couple of years, you’d recognize that nasal humming instantly. The capped-crusader has been everywhere since late 2005 when Aashiq Banaya Aapne (ABA) was released. That was the first appearance of Himesh, the star. For those...Read more

Good review. I watched the show in bits. But I am extremely angry with you for calling Ash as Thrash. Why Oh Why do people hate Ash? Is it because she is too perfect to be true? LOL. Anyways, enjoyed reading ur review. Cheers, Kiran

Whether Chappell was right when he said it was all about Ganguly's finances or not is another issue altogether, and to be honest, it might not be completely untrue. However, there are some truths which should never be explicitly blurted out, and thats the cardinal sin that Chappell committed. It ce...rtainly is a sad state of affairs with autocratic selectors who openly admit to biased selections, and aristocratic senior players who think a place in the team is their birthright. Because of all this, so many deserving youngsters may have had to sacrifice their dreams. Read More

Exactly my thoughts. Form or no form, atleast dont make a joke of your heroes. Even if you have to bury them, atleast dont take away their honor. Thanks for your comments.

Saurav had been an inspirational captain for all those years, and he will always be remembered for the way he turned around a docile team into the aggressive Team India. Surely, he deserved better treatment. Maybe a proper farewell tour, like Steve Waugh had. Thanks for your comments.

I agree that Chappell needs to behave. But lets not make that as an excuse to blindly paint Chappell as all bad and Saurav as a messiah. Conspiracy Theories are great to read about and romanticize, but honestly, I dont think Chappell is a part of some devious conspiracy to bring about the downfall o...f Indian Cricket. Simply because Australia are so much better than everyone else that they dont need to stoop that low. The only point that I am disappointed about is that Saurav Ganguly had been a great captain, and so he deserves a better farewell. But that is possible if both parties are willing to give and take an inch. Let's hope for the best. Thanks for your feedback.Read More

Well, I didnt know the details of the Duleep Trophy match that you have mentioned. Must be a really bad day at office for Saurav. Unfortunately for him, these bad days are coming too often , and unless he finds some consistent form, and also works on his attitude a little, there may not be any way b...ack for Saurav. Firstly, thanks for the RRC. Now, did you just say ' A series of good performances by Saurav Ganguly in domestic Cricket'?. I am afraid I missed it then, because scoring an occasional 50 and an odd hundred in domestic matches, against friendly attacks, is not enough to earn a recall. However, if S...aurav played some truly classic innings in domestic cricket, that would be worthy of a recall. Not for his current performance. And that brings me to your comment on Rahul not doing anything for Saurav's sake. Well, atleast someone is doing his job right. It is not Rahul's job to unfairly influence the selctors. Since Saurav's performance is nothing to boast about, Rahul should not throw his weight around by trying to influence Saurav's selection. Rahul is not like Saurav, and with a good reason. But I surely agree that cricket in India is politics at its worst.Read More
