I have been a Gelato fan for more than a decade now and have had Gelato whenever I run into a parlour whichever part of the world I am in . Have had it in many countries and believe me when I say this Milano is the best Gelato I have had anywhere. I walked in the door of the Milano on their very...Read more

ELICA BUILT IN HOBS

When we were shopping around for doing up our apartments one of the key items on the List was a built in Hob that is useful with our style of cooking. My dad   had got a Faber hob 2 years back and it ended up a useless showpiece in the kitchen with my Mother relying on a old fashioned Butterfly ...Read more

I guess this is a slightly biased comment. Got to admit the pre-school admission process in Kochi could do with a lot of clarity. Donations and Recommendations are essential for admission to most of the reputed schools. Though my kid do not study there, a lot of my friends kids study in Naipunya who... belong to Hindu and Muslim & non Catholic christian(s) community. In fact we had applied for our child and had our application rejected. It is a fact a certain preference is given to kids from Catholic family which is understandable considering the school is run by CMI church. Other admissions go to those who come with recommendations. Not yet in the top rung of Cochin schools yet, but on the way there. CMI church has a reputation for running well managed schools in kerala - So if you are new to Kochi please do not rule out Naipunya for your child because of the above review. It is a good public school and will be a top rung school in a few years. CMI management usually ensures this.Read More

Now that I am a resident, I am good with the no construction after 6 pm and sundays rule. Call me a hypocrite :-). But if you are negotiating a deal with Olive ask about the following : 1. Find out when olive will get the amenities available - if possible get it into your agreement with a penalty c...lause. 2. Ask them up front their facilities to make power available during Interior Work inside apartments I have started recommending Olive Kalista atleast again because in spite of their Customer Relation issues : the property has the best Location, Best Construction I have seen and most important in this location very good ground water and an excellent Rainwater Harvesting system and project pace is decent. Putting pluses against the negatives of an obnoxious Customer Relationship team - I would recommend a buy as it stands today.Read More

Follow through update : Residents had an unofficial meeting with Olive Chairman Mr. Matthai as part of Onam Celebrations sponsored by the Builder -. He agreed to solve few of the minor issues that residents posed with respect to maintenance, boundary wall, security arrangements etc, but categoricall...y refused to open the GYM, Children's play area or any other common facilities until the KSEB connection comes through. His argument is that the KSEB connection is expected in 1.5 months time. It is another matter that some of the long terms residents have been hearing this 1.5 months timeline for more than 1 year now. So if any of you are booking an olive apartment with plans to stay in it near future, ask explicitly what the status of KSEB connection is and try and include a penalty clause in your agreement if the facilities are not provided within time. One Postive impact of all these activism the residents in Olive Kalista are now a community of friends instead of strangers within four walls..Read More

Thought I will post an update to my above rant. I complained earlier that Olive asked for Rs. 5000 per month for the duration of Interior Work at our apartment. We paid the first Rs. 5000 but absolutely refused to pay the next month unless they give us a receipt with the statement '5000 toward payme...nt for electricity used per month during interior'. When they asked me what it is for, we told them it is to submit as evidence when we file a case in Consumer court. They have not asked me for the same since then. :-) . The no work on Sunday's claim turned out to be hollow because there workers work on Sunday. It is not such a big issue but why do PR people make bombastic claims which wont stand the least bit of scrutiny. I have to think the folks at Olive's Main office have not really visited any of their projects that they are sellingRead More

[01-MAY-2015]The Customer Relations Team used to be quite decent until around 3-4 months back. Wither they have  a new PR head or the current team has an attitude problem, but the treatment meted out to owners is self righteous and downright obnoxious. I own an apartment in Olive's Kalista compl...Read more
