You can straight away go to prerana Motors Adugodi service station. You can get the address details from the website www.preranamotors.com. You could find Mr Karthik. He is a responsible person. But before handing over the car let them estimate and tell you what exactly needs to be done. That way... you should not have any problem. I do not trust their Peenya station because I cant physically be there at Peenya. While I have not gone to Old Madras Road station. So I dont know.Read More

Well a secret I would reveal. The Tata service is unreliable; To make it reliable I copy all letters to the Head of prerana Motors, bangalore. Immediate action. No excessive billing. Now I have a enginner at their servicing facility in my good books. No worry for me as long as he is there. ;-)

Maruti by itself is well tested and well believed to be perfect. There was a time you had no choices except maruti. But now one has the option of thinking according to ones needs. If you are a three member family with an average Indian height. The Estilo is good. In that case if one sacrifices the l...ooks the wagon R duo is a better choice. XETA gives you the comfort of a luxury car, thats what you cant get in these small cars. Note u r paying 80 K lesser for a luxurios car, so there will be some dissadvantages. Here the service and quality of finishing in XETA is what you sacrifice.Read More

Poor quality in what could you be specific? Yes I agree the finish is not good in XETA the door trims, the door fittings, bonet fitting, hatch lock etc. These specially needs to be well tested and alligned before delivery.Once delivery happens you will not be able to rectify those and later lose you...r peace of mind. But to get something at the price you have to spend that effort.Read More

Its the dealer and the service station you are visiting who are a problem. Since the very beginning you stuck with the same service station. Why dont you try any other service station? I am sure you are being fooled by those guys. How could they charge 500/ for oil change? The whole can is priced ar...oung 200/- And for top up you dont need the whole can. As you see I have given my experience. If you want I can cross verify your reciepts from the service station I visit and let them say why the discrepency. And then with that document you can always file a case against them. I dont know why are you waiting for. I have read all your series of reviews; It is a clear case of cheating by that particular dealer/service station. Nothing to do with Tata XETA. i would say cool down and put a case against them, in a dew days you will start enjoying your XETA to the fullest.Read More

First of all I never accused other cars. Use proper words to say what you mean. You should not mislead people by your experience with only 2 of your friends. I know many people (not less than 15) who are NOT getting 8-9 Kms and the mileage is far above that. Either there is some problem with your fr...iend's driving or they have not tuned their engine properly. It is a way of test and rectify by which you can make your mileage high. Or the service station they are visiting are making a fool of them. I have always said be carefull while getting the XETA serviced. Also other cars which you say are time tested ... Do you consider the New Zen time tested? The Alto is good for small family. Cant imagine of 4-5 poeple going for long drives in it. It was not for me. Only Santro is a car which you can say has similar features. But at the cost of 80K more why should I get that.Read More

But MumAvi, my cousin who has got a XETA GLS this month is getting a bit lesser mileage than me.. approx 0.5 km per liter. But he has not driven 1000Kms yet. That could be the reason. I have no idea of diesel cars. Very rarely I have driven diesel cars.

I have used ordinary petrol of IBP, HP and BP. Performance(power) wise I couldn't find difference. May be I am not that sensitive. The variation in mileage is there ~1 Km a litre. But that too depends if the petrol bunks are reputed ones. With speed of BP; I get 11.5 to 12.8 Km /litre in CITY drivin...g conditions. Whereas 16 to 18 or more in highways. With ordinary petrol from BP I get 11 to 12.2 km in City whereas 16 to 16.8 Kms in the highway. By CITY drive I mean average travel of 40% on 4 lane ring roads and 60% on dense shopping area traffic.Read More

The other advantage of Indica XETA is the maintenance cost is almost zero in the first 10000Kms. I have spend Rs74 in the first service for oil top up and Rs13 for pollish a total of Rs87 at 5000 kms. At 10000 kms I will have to change engine oil that could cost me something around Rs200. And then t...otall cost would come to Rs287 upto 15000Kms. Here I would like to mention that I had to spend more than Rs2000/- for my two wheeler in 10000Kms. :-))Read More

And for your information I owned Old Zen, 800. Old Zen was a marvel. Do you have similar cars in todays market in the 4 lacs range. Show me one I would immediately go for that. Note in my review there was comparison of cars not only criticism of other cars. If you have the patience to read in de...tails you will see I have noted down the good points of other cars too. And Mr Rishiratta, I too agree and support that the tata service and support is basically nothing but bullshit. And even the car model that you bought did have mileage problem. But did you ask anybody who bought the revamped model?Read More

Well Mr. Rahul .. I think I have driven enough to understand the pros and cons. Right now the baby is well matured with 8000Kms. Long drives include bangalore-goa more than 1500 Kms up and down. I get fatigue driving the Alto or santro. In XETA I bet you will never have that. For mileage I drive 25-...40 Kms a day in city. I get 12 Kms per litre. Note dear commenters and readers mine is the new 1200 CC Xeta. So it is not one of the old XETA giving poor mileage. And dear Mr Rahul your comment says that you have not read my review fully. I did mention the lack of finish in the car. But these are repairable if you have the patience to get it done. But for that you have to pay 80K lesser than other cars with the same features. As for Mr Rishiratta, I am fully aware of your situation. Firstly you bought the old XETA before the revamp. That indeed was bad in mileage. Secondly none of the Tata dealers advice fitting CNG. That was the second mistake you did. If you were so much concerned of economic driving there was Wagon R DUO company fitted LPG kit.Read More

A tripod is essential with H7 or H9, where zoom is 18X or more. 12X is managable with normal hands as I have said in the review. And just to remind you @rajasagar its not 2.5 inches.. its 3 inches... I download movies into my camera and watch ;-) I do not agree that S3 IS is better choice. It is... clumsy. It has only 1 positive over H5 that the auto mode in S3 IS captures more true color, like green appear more green. But with the other features on board I wouldn't mind a bit of manual adjustments to get that quality in H5.Read More

Well, warranty is there but that is valid in US only. So if anything happens you will have to send it to the US to avail it. But don't worry its a SONY. Even if something happens you can always have a paid repair at the SONY service centers and the cost wouldn't be unaffordable.

It does play for couple of scratches but will pause for a while till it tries to skip the scratched sector. Much similar to the experience of ordinary CD-ROM players in computer Desktops. For DVDs you may have to restart the system for deep scratches as the total system will cease to respond. But in... such cases I found a workaround: Note the time when the DVD pauses for a long time and stops responding; Restart the system and directly play from a point 2 minutes ahead of the noted time.Read More

I always longed to buy a system which never falls short of power. I knew I won't play it outdoors, so, I never went for any outdoor benchmarkings. Use it indoors you will never feel, that the sound quality may degrade at the topmost volume. The sound reproduction is superb, chirping to heart ...Read more
