I totally agree with you! A Hitchai 3 door fridge is the biggest mistake you will be making. I bought it after being convinced about some superior cooling technology of a 3 door fridge instead of the 2 door fridge. It worked well for 2 years and suddenly stopped working. The reason apparently is tha...t the gas has leaked out of the pipe owing to corrosion. This obviously means that the pipe is of substandard material! and because of a faulty pipe worth a very small amount, we have to bear the brunt of the expensive gas leaking! Also the cost of the 'imported' gas refilling is Rs.6000 which is exorbitant as compared to the indian gas used in other 2 door models of the same company. It is close to impossible to get through their customer service numbers, which after getting through is not of much help/ moreover they claim their gas will come in another week..so I'm left with a cupboard instead of a fridge for 10 whole days! It wouldn't be as frustrating if it was not the most expensive fridge in the market, but i foolishly paid up believed the expense justified the technology. I'm very frustrated and feel cheated.
