Hello Sir. I had a horrible experience with Airtel as well, and ultimately had to bite the bullet and change mobile service providers. Number portability is being rolled out by end of November and that also only in one state. Portability will be released in phased manner and it'll be probably more t...hen 1 year when you could actually enjoy the number portability. Both Airtel and Vodafone are strongly opposing Number portability, for obvious reasons. Changing number is not as bad as I had though, it's just a matter of sending a bulk SMS to all contacts. You may make your own decision by weighing out your choices. Please note that if you don't take a action, Airtel would have siphoned off thousands of rupees by the time Number portability arrives. Number portability is being strongly opposed by the top two mobile service provider (Airtel & Vodafone), and even if it get's launched by end of this year, it will still be launch...ed in phases, so it may take a good 1 year for your to avail that. Till that time, Airtel would have siphoned off thousands of rupees from you. It's your call on what decision you have to take. @dinipc1 - Yes, after being harassed for more than a month and counting, I decided to move to Docomo. So far my bills are 1/2 of what I used to pay at Airtel. Depending upon your usage, your values would vary.

@airtel284 - I love that standard copy/paste reply message from Airtel. I happen to get it twice now for the same post. It's becoming more and more apparent that there's no coordination between your team that oversees mouthshut.com and the ones that track airtelpresence@airtel.in. I did get a call f...rom 97178943** yesterday, but again your representative has a notion of 'customer is always wrong'. That attitude will not solve any problems, but it would just alleviate it. So, here's my reply to your post again, please open up Airtel reference # 510201013208 and you would find all the details there. I have had already sent an email to airtelpresence@airtel.in on 12th Oct with my contact details and I've just finished replying to your appellate@airtel.in
