Okay, so I am back after 9 years to update this review and washing machine condition. So far washing machine is working fantastically, but started getting one noise while spinning. It is like 'dug-dug-dug'. Initially we thought some oiling or greasing is required. Now the service engineer diagnosed ...that one of the shock up is gone, So we are telling him to change both of them for future perspective. Cost Rs 6000-7000. This is first thing we are spending after 9 years. Meanwhile our habits have been changed with time and growing kids. Now we are using machine once or twice daily. So maintenance is must.Read More

So far we did not get any trouble in last 4 years. Its trouble free and never needed any call to Customer care service. Though we called them once for routine inspection after initial 2 years and the guy came next day of raising ticket through phone call.

@praneshnc: Thanks for your comments. It has good spinning capability but no hot air dryer. Generally hot dryer is not combined with WM. At least, I haven't seen one.

I agree here. After using Faber for last 3 years, I feel Electra was a overall good technology and my Faber is total mess for cleaning and maintaining. Faber’s stainless steel baffles need cleaning at each month-2 months and its very noisy. Overall suction capacity is also better in Electra. Also An...shuman forgot to mention one point, in my view audible noise is less in Electra compared to my Faber. Faber makes Air/motor noise equivalent to Kerosene (pressure burner) Stove. Same with Electricity power consumption, Electra is at positive side. So make a sensible decision while buying.Read More

Yes, Sometime back we put four small washable cushions in WM for washing. Somehow one of them was open at corner and we did not notice this. Just inserted it for washing and all internal stuffing material was got out. It blocked the drain pump. My wife was not able to understand what happened. T...hen I remembered that WM installer guy told about the outlet trap and manual drain pipe. We powered off the machine from wall plug, this let off door lock. [Similar way you can take out clothes] if you are interested in further story then its here. -> We drained all water from small outlet pipe provided at bottom which is kept folded behind plastic cover. Opened plastic cover of drain trap/filter (similar to vehical's fuel tank lead.) and removed all clogged material collected from it and machine is ready go again! Read More

@click321; I have equal respect for Top loaders and Front Loaders. Only money matters! 10K-14K : Good top loaders (5Kg) from lowest to highest are LG, SAMSUNG, Whirlpool (F/L), Haeir (I could not find a single owner, even I do not trust Chinise goods) 15-20K -> Whirlpool, IFB(5kg), Siemens... (5Kg) >20K-> 7Kg front loaders from Whirlpool, IFB, SiemensRead More

@vishak_s: You are perfectly right. Front loaders use less water compared to Top loaders. Front Loaders are gentle on clothes, for removal for stain you have to reduce load to 75% of full capacity or select program for stain removal which takes more time. (35 minutes - 2hr30min) Power saving - I ...myself don't buy the argument that front loaders save power. Only it is efficient machine (usage in terms of KW/H) Now comparison of wash quality is debatable. Top loader are agressive hence in quick wash they outperform Front loaders. Same time this is not good for delicate wash, as it needs to be washed slowly and gently. Wash Time - How you use it? yes top loaders are quick hence noisy. front loaders are comparatively slow hence silent. Using correct program and segragating different type of washing, narrow down the gap between top loader and front load washer. Only point is space above or (below) and water requirement are less. features are more in Front loaders. At last modern looks and peace that matters for households. Read More

Continued... Energy-wash-water Ratings: This is written in format of X-Y-Z where X,Y,Z={ A,B,C} Here A stands for good, B means average and C stands for poor. e.g. Siemens WM-12E160IN has rating A-A-C : first A = energy efficient, second A = Good wash quality, C = Not a water saver. N...OTE: This holds good for reputed brands but mainly a marketing gimmick, hogwash. Trust your own eyes and use this as a last criteria for buying WM. Personally, I did not consider this as buying criteria. Where did we buy: We looked into various posh malls, but they seemingly not ready to come below MRP. Again I have to run myself behind WM Customer Support after purchase. They won’t be providing any assistance after sales. Hence from friend’s suggestion we zeroed on shop who has good reputation over last 25 years. He offered us Rs 2000 cash discount on top of MRP (Rs 31900). Also ready for 3 interest free EMIs. Delivery process: Just written my name and address in their register. Washing Machine delivered at my doorstep after calling my wife about her presence at home. Delivery boy inspected WM, collected pay cheque, handed over all bills and given written ackowledgement for payment. Dealer called Siemens guys to reach my home for installation and demo next day. Now we are happy owners of Siemens WM-12E160IN (fully imported) since 1 week. Its doing its duty for which we shelled out premium price. I thank you for reading this long article. Read More

Continued... Some statistics: America, Asia: 65%(Top Loader), 35%(Front Loader) Europe, Middle East: 10%(Top Loader), 90%(Front Loader) Indian Scenario: Looked brands for ascending build quality, price and Customer Support (left-right): Top Loader: Godrej, Videocon(Electro...lux), Samsung, Toshiba, Haier, LG, Whirlpool Front Loaders: Haier, LG, Whirlpool, IFB, Siemens Low end was Godrej along with Videocon while upper end was IFB and Siemens. Decision Making (for 7Kg only): 1. Budget was no constraint (<30K) for us . 2. I felt going for latest technology is better. So we thought of front loader though results of top loader are not that bad. 3. So as Godrej and Videocon were out being lowest performers in front loaders and fully automatic range. 4. In Front loaders we rejected ’’Jack of all and master of none’’ kind of companies. Hence Samsung, Toshiba, Haier and LG were made out. 5. Now only remaining were Whirlpool, IFB and Siemens. I have ’itch’ of buying best among all, looking for premium product. All three were good but I did not get single negative feedback on Siemens, so we bought it. Considered door opening angle 180 deg, quality of rubber seals, door hinges and glass, Stainless steel tub’s smooth finish (otherwise clothes will be damaged), Overall build etcRead More

Hi, We recently purchased Siemens WM-12E160IN Front Loading, 7KG Washer. It does not have single negative comment so far. MRP INR 31900. This is better than IFB. Someone commented 'IFB is indian subsidiary of Bosch, and not manufacturing same quality in Goa Plant. They are just encashing their... name.' Wash quality is same in all Front Loaders, but the feel of material quality is more in Siemens. My decision was based on feedback on both Companies Customer Service. Because these front loading machine may require rubber gasket and seal changes at Aprrox 5 years, you have to look for Customer service of perticular company. Regards,Read More
