Under-rated Gem of a small car

The gear refusing to slot into 5`th or reverse is not unique to the Wagon R alone. The Alto has the same problem. So too the Estilo. Not sure about the Swift, Eeco etc.

Maruti cars are good. However of late the dealers have become arrogant. They have a take it or leave it mentality. The service also is not as efficient as before.

Worst Service and Bad Product

I had a test drive of the Vista Petrol a few days back.The latest model with the Drivetech4. I cant say anything after a test drive alone. Incidentally it was from Tafe Reach Chennai. I find that compared to Maruti, people who opt for Tata or Hyundai cars need to keep their fingers crossed. There ar...e buyers who use Santro/Vista which gives good mileage and are trouble free. And there are others who have troubles from day one. Performance of Maruti seems to be standardised. However they too need to provide a better fit and finish. They seem to have become complacent because they are the absolute market leaders especially in the small car segment. Also note that your cars performance will vary depending on the quality of service provided at the dealers during the first three or four services.Read More

A test drive car will always be rashly handled.I have driven a new Estilo and there are times when I feel that the engine is switched especially when waiting at traffic signals. Its that silent. Nothing wrong with the AC either.
