After reading many reviews, I think yours sums up about cb shine. I've been using it from April 2013.I have no major commuting needs so I crossed the 1900KM mark just yesterday. This is my first bike so, I didn't know much about bikes while buying. Thought of getting unicorn but since it's somewhat ...heavy, I went for shine.It gave me the same damn starting trouble which I thought was my naivety. Had to take it to mechanic for 5-10 times. Later the problem didn't show up.I live in a tier-3 city/town and the traffic is just as terrible as the roads,yet the mileage never dropped below 55. I usually get 58+. A highest of 62 just once.The engine moaning when riding above 60kmph is a bit troubling but you get used to it. If only this one had an extra gear.

I am using it from 3 years and I personally have no issue with airtel. Except that their plans are a bit costly(their friends and family and sms plans are not worth for money).

BSNL has robust network and good tariff plans. But when you consider VAS and customer service they are very poor. For example the customer service people don't know anything about GPRS plans, settings etc.,
