Got up on this auspicious day hearing about the sad demise of Steve Jobs. I actually wondered whether to celebrate Dussehra or to mourn the death of Steve Jobs.

Steve Jobs has been an inspiration to many including me. The first time I heard about Steve Jobs was when I participated in my school’s quiz competition where I was asked the question,”Who is the founder of Apple Computer?” I am glad that I didn’t know the answer then because that made me more curious to know about this iconic personality.

As I started learning about Steve Jobs the fascination & the unending quest to know more about him remained. I have lost the count of the number of times, I watched his Commencement speech at Stanford University. It is really inspiring and heart touching and a must watch for everybody. I then watched a movie,”The Pirates of Silicon Valley.” roughly inspired on Steve Jobs & Bill Gates life at Silicon Valley and followed it up by reading a book titled “iCon – Steve Jobs” written by Jeffrey Young & William Simon. This book is a biography on Steve Jobs and explains his rise in the world of computer technology & movie and music industry. Its a must read book for all those who admire Steve Jobs as it delves on the qualities that made him what he is today and also gives a deep insight behind the formation of Apple.

In a nutshell, I would like to share 10 things what I have learned & what we all should learn from Steve Jobs extraordinary life.

  • Innovate or Die – Don’t hesitate to travel the less taken path.

  • Start Quickly to Succeed Early

  • Never skip the learning curve. You can learn anything from anyone, Just have the learning attitude.

  • Surround Yourself with Good People

  • Explore the World

  • Don’t Value Money more than People

  • Take Risks & Focus on Personal Branding

  • Dream Big, Have a Higher Purpose & Build a Strong Team of Passionate People

  • Failure is not falling down it is staying down

  • Remember You'll be Dead soon.So live your each day as if it’s your last !!

I conclude with Steve Jobs golden words,“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

To - A true entrepreneur with an incredible vision who walked his talk and gave the world a message to "STAY HUNGRY, STAY FOOLISH." RIP Steve Jobs !!
