once after coming out of the baggage section (which is directly behind the imigration counters) u r in the arrival hall where u can see the customer service counter/best thing is to get all the maps of the city there (both city maps& transport maps) /they r plenty & free of cost every where in hkg/ next is to buy an OCTOPUS CARD/ this card opens almost all gates at hkg/the airport express train /the city buses/MTR trains/many shopping malls& supermarkets/ minimum amount to be paid is 150HKG $/it is a card which is to be just swiped across the mechine to pay /the mechine will show u the amount deducted& the balance in ur card/we prefered to take the bus /the airport has perfect sign boards to direct u to the place u want to go/ it is not as big as the thai swarnabhoomi airport /but much bigger than the KUL airport I think/well maintained & has one big sky plaza shopping centre inside the terminal 2/the city is connected with airport by public busses& airport express& MTR train/ bus is cheaper & takes 40 mints to reach the TST (Tim ShaTsui) area (city flyer bus A21) they have many buses like that connecting important places in hkg city/it is an A/C double decker bus /if u want to have a clear view of the city& the route u travel then u can go upstairs /there is a big space to keep ur luggages at the enterance of the bus/ the flash sign board shows which stop is coming next& the important landmarks near that stop/( in the upper deck also) so it is much easy to know where u have to get down/
the hongkong has three main islands /almost all important places to be seen r within the 3 islands/there r many smaller islands also where they have beach resorts etc/ most of the islands can be reached by ferry only/ the kowloon island has mainly the shopping centres& the kowloon park/many budget hostels r in that island only also the avenue of stars where we can watch the symphony of lights /the hongkong island has the ocean park /the peak /the wax museum/the stanely market /the lantau island has the airport ,the big buddha monastry/the cable car etc/
