Unruly Bangalore police....rulekeepers or rule-breakers?

By: javandhia | Posted May 29, 2009 | General | 473 Views

I stay in Marathalli and Verthur lake is closed by. It's a nice feeling to go there and spend some time far from city's air and sound pollution.Anyways, my roomies planned to go to the lake yesterday and asked me if I want to join. Thankfully I was on phone with my fiancee and I asked them to carry on without me. I slept before they returned. When I got up in morning next day, my roomies told me the horror story of the night. While they were sitting by the lake (aronud 11:30 PM), a police jeep stopped. Some cops came down. My friends figured that cops were heavily DRUNK. They asked about the villege my friends are from (this is what my friends figured with their limited knowledge of Kannada). My friends told them that they are from Mumbai/ Bhopal..Before my friends realize what is going on, one of the cop pulled his stick and started beating my friends without any warning. Other cops tried to stop this unruly cop from beating my friends but he would go on. My friends rushed to their bikes and tried to leave that place. But that time was enough for this unruly cop to cause enough damage..!!One of my friend's hand started swelling...others took him to Sent. John's hospital to check if he got a fracture...fortunately it was just swelling, not fracture....I wonder which rule of the law-book gives the drunk cops right to beat innocent public??? When will we get a civilized police to protect civilized society...?- A pitiful Citizen of Bangalore..!!
