We have all heard of the dacoits of Chambal valley who looted money in daylight. Now many years later, the dacoits are back - in the form of Suresh Kalmadi and his gang of Commonwealth organisers!
The dacoits atleast were believed to be looting only from the rich and sparing the poor. But Kalmadi's gang have no such qualms. Their target is the tax payers hard earned money.The general public sweats blood to pay taxes. The idea behind paying taxes is that the money paid is used by the Govt. to improve infrastructure and facilities. Instead what is happening?
Crores of rupees are being spent on a useless games which has no value. The money is not spent on athletes but is being paid to contractors who are making profit at the rate of 800-1000%!! And naturally a lions share of this ill-gotten wealth is going to Kalmadi's marauders.
It is not just shocking but also disgustingto learn how treadmills, fridges, and even clothes lines and dustbins were taken on rent, instead of buying - just to siphon off money. When our taxes are being looted like this, should we keep quiet?
Kalmadi should not only be sackedbut should be arrestedalong with the rest of thw organisers of this sham games. Delhi CM Shiela Dixit also has to answer many questions.
When such is the situation, do we need a sports ministry to supervise the looting? The Govt says it cannot afford subsidies and hikes fuel prices! But here croresare going down the drain.
If our PM has even a bit of shame left, he should disband such useless ministries and use that money to control inflation.
