Urgent help required of as many Msians as possible. Please publicize this DP at will. Your input is central to my thesis.
I’m researching the subject – “Transformation of control in Hindu society”. I wanted to pick Indian society as a whole, but due to the diversity and the vastness of culture, I had to confine myself to just ‘Hindu’.
However, there is no religious segregation. There is a questionnaire which takes only a few minutes to fill out. If you are not Hindu, it does notmatter. All questions do not just relate to Hindus. There are general opinions asked for as well. Just leave the section blank which you think you can’t answer, and fill out the rest of the questionnaire.
I need a sample space of 500 responses. So, as you can see, I need a lot of input! Also, sitting here in another country, it is hard to conduct this. Please help me out. Distribute the questionnaire to your friends, family, relatives at will. Do not bother about number. Just scatter around. Also, there is another set of questions which allows you to expand on your ideas. Here, you can really express yourself. Do this, if you have time.
Confidentiality is key. Nowhere do I ask for any names, nor will any names be mentioned anywhere in my thesis. So, please be honest, rather than politically correct. Honesty is most important. I am not judging anyone!

If you want to fill out the questionnaire or/and the other set of in depth questions, please send me a blank email. I’ll email you back with the questionnaire as attached document. You can fill out the questionnaire on word itself, forward it to whomsoever you like, and email me back with completed questionnaire (as attached document). This way, it’ll be easier for me to collate, plus you don’t have to print anything!
Note: Remember, when you are filling it out, you are representing India. India’s image in the global sense is not all that crash hot. In fact, when I first landed in Australia, everyone was surprised that I could speak English! This is the clash between individualism and family culture. Western society believes that family culture is like a feudal system, and it restrains individual development and unique sense of identity. They see it as a form of oppression. Instead, try to show, why you value your family, what role does it play in your day to day life. Approach this like you are trying to explain who you are to an infant. Basically, you are trying to explain the notion of a family to people who have never actually had any experience of it or what it really means.
