Humph humph and another humph! So finally KKR after regaling us with all and sundry changes (name, dress colour, captaincy) is going to change its win-loss tally? Not to forget the statement made by the SRK that this year he will stay away from his team as his larger than life personality is too intimidating and overbearing for KKR. So much so that they loose due to all that stage fright!
In the cricketing world of glorious uncertainties we could atleast be sure of one thing in the past…………. KKR would never fail to entertain us. With their clownish acts and comic timing, we could always rely upon them to turn the ante up in each performance and make complete fools of themselves. And this season we will be denied that too?
Shah Rukh Khan is a great businessman, hasn’t he realized that his team has been able to do what noone else has, they have given us the lighter, head shaking moments of IPL ala set comic scenes of 1940-60s when the ‘comedienne’ would suddenly appear in the scene out of nowhere and create humour completely at cross purposes or at the very least unrelated to the rest of the movie! His team had a niche and so were probably the most talked about! And now they want to be like everyone else and win??
But let KKR please win. They have my full support because the only positive upshot of the whole incident (and its future possibilities) is that if KKR get onto a winning streak (and SRK doesn’t head his own advice of not overshadowing his team) then its owner will have less time to make his torturous versions of ‘heart warming, triumph of the human spirit’ kind of movies! That alone will be the single most important contribution by KKR to the world of cinema!
