The Joy of GIVING

I thought I'd start my new year with a good deed. what better way then to feed the less lucky animals. so I headed to Ahimsa, a local stray dog medical facility in Malad, with 10 kgs of biscuits and 50 breads. I was given a tour of the entire facility and an oppurtunity to see survival at its best.

I have been thinking since the time I got out of the facility. I always used to crib and cry and worry bout my next amusement gadget for my entertainment. But does it really matter if I own a fancy phone or an expensive laptop or a top end car? after yesterday... it doesnt matter anymore. Yes, wenever I buy something new for myself it gives me immense pleasure. But the pleasure that I experienced yesterday was out of this world. walking thru d facility getting all the attention and love from them was an amazing experience. their actions spoke in so many words. Helpless, injured, attacked and desperate the look in their eyes bought a tear in my eye. I am not saying that I am becoming a monk and will spend my entire life in their service. but I do intend to do more for them. I am an animal lover and these animals need our help cos they cannot express their pain and grief with words. Thanks ahimsa for doing this.

I atleast plan to be with them one day in a month. Gave me immense peace of mind.

Thank you God for taking me there. I had a wonderful start to my new year.
