The Electricty pole

By: maximusjim | Posted Jul 22, 2008 | General | 248 Views

Recently while working on the computer I heard a bang! a big thud and my system went off! My work stopped because after all who runs us, the electricity.

I got out of my house looked out on the road. Near my house there is a wood vendor outlet where I saw an electricity pole, which was cracked just 1 or 2 feet from base. The broken cement pole was lying on the wall as a support to the wood vendors compound wall, it smashed the wall too.

I went to the scene and was amazed that the cement pole had no iron support inside, it just broke apart. May be the lorry had hit the pole and it broke. But what's amazing thing was there was no iron support inside cement pole. Oh my god! Can you imagine the scenario.

The electricity board must have some specifications when they procure the items from the suppliers or manufacturers and after testing they pass on the tender, depending on sample.

There was no iron or steel inside! can you imagine that, is it cost effective or a curse. Anything could have happend without the support from inside of the cemented pole. I just couldnt belive the big government gigantic structures what lies beneath.
